Title: Help - Lights
Post by: WillRayden on October 20, 2004, 07:43:08 PM
HELP!!

I have a problem with my lghts, and wondered if anyone could shed some light (sorry couldn\'t resist):D

I have lost main beam and dipped on both front lights...

They pop up, and I can hear the relay click but there is no light, The \'flash to pass\' button works and the lights flash, buth they then go off.

I have checked all the fuses, and they\'re all fine, the only thing I can now think it could be would be a relay (but it definately clicks when you turn the switch) or bulbs (both at the same time??) or I suppose the actual switch?

Any ideas???

Cheers

Will

If it helps, i had a problem where when i put high beam on the lot went off and i was left with side lights.

Thats turned out to be the Relay, it seams there is two big problems with the FC3s the first is the wiper switch the second is the Headlight relay. Very common.

If i was you i\'d start by checking that then the switch. Not realy too much it could be. this is assuming the bulbs are OK.

Theres also a large Headlamp relay under the glove box, mounted on a metal plate behind the speaker grille. Not sure if thats just the motor relay or not though.

Cheers for the help guys, i\'m gonna check the relay at the front under the bonnet first, as this seems most lightly at this stage (from looking through the Mazda service manual last night).

The only slightly odd thing is that the lights on the switch don\'t come on anymore either, are thay controlled by the same realy, is this a conincidence, or does this lead to it being a faulty switch?

It\'s most annoying as I can\'t drive anywhere at night now, which kind of rules out going to the pub!  :(
