Title: pop pop bang
Post by: wiggy on October 20, 2004, 04:25:58 PM
Is it nornal for the RX to pop, fart, bang and generally make noise??

Its worse when cold but basically does it when ever it feels like it.

I know they use a lot of fuel and put it down to loads going in and not all of it being used?

Basically its when I take my foot off the gas coming up to a junction for example. If you blip the throttle when its sat there doing nothing it will rev up fine and then pop fart and bang when coming back down.

I like it but I want to check its normal?

I am going to attempt new plugs next week just in case its them not helping?

The car starts first time no probs and idles when hot about 800ish RPM

Cheers chaps as always :D

Mine did exactly the same before I had a power FC... it seemed to run very rich at low revs when cold.
Since the power FC and a re-map it\'s a lot quieter (and more fuel efficient ;) )

Cheers

This is what I thought, just using way too much fuel and the engine is just dumping it out

Power FC here I come then....

Thats if the engine don\'t blow up before then because of this coolant issue

it\'s pretty normal thou isn\'t it, i was meaning to put up a thread on how to best get it to pop & bang with decat etc used to be best on the scoob moving along & letting rev go down very low in a high gear mine seems to do it when nicely warmed up & having sat still after a decent blat a squeeze of gas then offf (with clutch in) often gives a good bang or a pop pop bang. I think it;s great but then i am a sad act (http://www.computerpannen.com/cwm/contrib/edoom/puppy_dog_eyes.gif) pmsl
it\'s when the kids (not mine just random kids like) ask me to do it again i\'m like er it\'s not antilag or owt it erm just does it sometimes....lol
Any good techniques for consistent pops from the rear?

You\'ll have to ask my car Si, it seems to have the technique down to a T, I just sit there smiling :D

Sometimes though its a little embarasing :burnout bang bang..

I didn\'t mind it on my GT4 because it was anti-lag and I could switch it on and off :D
