Having just written about Carl and my rebuild I must also write about Clive and his excellent work.
Clive installed the injectors, fuel pump and regulator..........and my brake pads.
I have to say that his service went way beyond the norm.
He bent over backwards to make all the inevitable tooing and frowing (is that how you spell it) easy for me as my bending over backwards has been seriously hampered by a painful pinched sciatic nerve.
Clive (and Lisa) thank you so much for all your extra time you spent helping me out with transport etc etc
Aside from the fuelling work which I know was not an easy job with my twin turbo set up........all I seem to have done is added more items in my engine bay without spending the money I ought to in order to free up space........due to all the work that Clive has done on his own car and others he picked up on several other shortcomings that I had no idea about including a tampered with undertray that had previously been incorrectly installed and it had been "trimmed" in order to fit it..........he replaced it with a proper one and I am glad to say that my water temps are rock solid at 85 degrees whether booting or not.
When he drove the car he rang me and told me mine was the most lethal FD he had ever driven..........naturally this initially put a big smile on my face until he told me the reason it was so lethal was that 3 out of 4 shocks / dampers were totally fduked.
In a way this is quite good news, apart from the financial aspect of course, as it means I can expect much better handling if I get them replaced........he has tempted me with the Tiem (no idea of the spelling) with a nifty remote control that allows you to adjust the Damping settings from the comfort of your driving seat...........look out Schumacher.......I know this is your speciality......changing your settings mid race.
Anyway, I\'ll stop waffling......thank you for all your work, hospitality and extra assistance with my back induced immobility.
James
fdukd :rollin :rollin
I\'ll second that James.
Cheers Clive for the extra work you put in sorting out my brakes and thanks to Lisa for putting up with me dropping the car off late last Tuesday night.
