Rear Fog Light for fresh import

Hi,

My RX-7 is due to arrive off the boat early part of November and I have been trying find out where I can buy a rear fog light and fitting kit.

If anyone can let me know where I can get one I would be very grateful. I\'ve tried Halford\'s and the like, but they only seem to stock the typical \'bolt-on\' jobs... something I keen to avoid - I think it would really spoil the rear end of the RX-7.

Also, I understand that is not necessary to convert the speedo to MPH for the purpose of the M.O.T. - however it is something I would like to do, since it derestricts the speed limit at the same time... I think? Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a new speedo from and any particular make/model of speedo.

What about putting the rotor shaped Rx8 one on the back, something i am considering doing to mine, should be available at the one of those Mazda dealership places, don\'t mention its for an RX7 though as they won\'t know what you are talking about ;)

The general option seems to be converting the high level brake light, or one of the reversing lights.  And you don\'t need to apologise for posting.  You do, however, need to apologise for the name.... shame on you :reallymad

Thanks for the advice guys. I suspect I\'ll opt for replacing one of the reverse lights for a fog light - sounds like the easiest solution. Think I\'ll speak to the chaps at http://www.importsolutions.co.uk to see if they have the appropriate parts.

huge pic, sorry, but you can just see the rear fog on mine below the rear number plate.  Previous owner searched for months for it instead of putting a halfords brick on the car.

Still have the details if it\'s what you\'re looking for, thought these are from back in early 2002.

Glad it helped.  Let me know if they still have them in case I have any problems with mine.  Also, remember to get yourself a switch for it that lights up as there has to be some signal inside that tells you it\'s on.

What\'s the problem you have with it? Has it stopped working or completely?

no problems with mine, would just like to take the opportunity to keep up to date on whether or not these are still available.

Just in case I have any problems.  - don\'t expect or want any but that\'s usually when problems strike, ain\'t it! :rollin

Below is a pic of mine, light box was around £1.20, fitting wasnt too big of a job and overall it does look part of the car. imo.

By the way, has your rx done 63000 km\'s? I hope the guy who got you your RX is going to sort the body work out before you take delivery.
