So yesterday was interesting..... my intro into driving without losing my licence or killing anyone.

Went round Curborough sprint course about 8 years ago on motorbikes and thought that was tight then. Cars is worse.

The conditions would have been great with the Uniroyals, but a lot of the regulars said the track was very slippery. They were not wrong.

Spent most of the morning getting frustrated with the DSC cutting in at stupidly slow speeds so turned it off after lunch and learned the "art of spinning."

I feel I've grown out of Curborough already, as I stayed in 2nd gear most of the time, I need to stretch the 8's legs.

Some of the in car footage from the father in law is somewhat unorthodox, close ups of the wiper blades and me steering......hmmmm

One of the neater runs

Completely pointless start, and no DSC round this time.

A very slow 180 onto the grass

Some 7 foot fella with an Evo 6 was impressed with my turn in, Ill take that! I wasnt that bowled over by it mind you

That’s what after lunch ended up being, couldn’t get any decent speed up.

Organisers wanted to keep it sensible

The dsc off was interesting. Thats what the rotus is gonna be like so prob best learning to launch with it off. Theres always left foot braking but thats bloody hard and ive given up on that 1.

I was mucking about on the launch on that one to be honest , it was the last run of the day and the first one with the father in law in with the dsc off. He didn’t trust me after my first 180 lol

The camber on the bends were horrible which didn’t help

I think it would be easier on a “normal” track than a tight n twisty sprint circuit, it needs to be carrying more corner speed so less need to point n squirt from second gear all while.

Good fun tho

I did a rally day once with one of these experience days with Argos etc.

Yeah tried getting me to left foot brake on some bends.

I got a look off the instructor. A facial expression tells a million words.

His was “it’s not an effing clutch pedal” lolll

I think I’m a longgggg way off doing anything fancy for a while. If I can get round in a decent time without an off I’ll be pleased.
