Caught up yesterday with an old mate, Dave Nixon.

You will see below his RX-3 that he still has at Brands back in I think 2001 or 02.

He raced in classic saloons and won the championship in the 1990's and on this day at Brands had an excellent 2nd overall against, Mustangs, Camaro’s etc  :great:

I had the great pleasure of being invited to daves House after going to watch him race for the day at Oulton Park. He showed me his plethora or rx3 stored in his many garages and his son Ray took me for a blast to WGT in his rx4. He offered me to drive it back but I said no biggest mistake ever

Dave has a very special rx3 too, came from mazda with a 13B, flared arches and a few other non standard stuff. Wish I could buy it off him

Stay with this and you will see the number black "Jun" Gen 1 number 27 RX-7

There are other races out there when the was in white and you can see it properly, however Rod stuck with what he know and it had a cosworth engine in it.  :(

Rod Birley is an old mate I raced against for years and its a real shame that he dosn't know where the car is now, I would love to get my hands on it and put my engine in it  ;) .

Brilliant story Grant, not surprised by the reception you had though :great:.

Dave is still as enthusiastic and working on a Gen 1 he has had for years, but Ray has got into of all things camper vans instead of Rotary stuff these days!
