Staying on the topic of dashboards......

Just read the interesting info on Clive's website surrounding the sandwich plate adaptor..........

Can anyone spec up a decent oil pressure and oil temperature gauge?

I'll need to make provision for those sooner than later
Its just Rotors and GRP

Thanks Jon,

There's no immediate rush, I'm on holibobs in Devon ATM.

I've emailed Clive on the rbe website to see if I can get a price for the instrument panel without the water temp gauge and the ashtray mount......

Been on the bay of "E" and there are some discounted items there, but unsure of the quality.......

You get what you pay for I guess

Appreciate the support tho... :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft:

Nightmare nightshift!!
anyways. RB sandwich from Clive 2 ports i believe 1/8 npt. oil pressure 0 to 150psi. oil temp 0-150 C..
quality branded gauges should be fine.
As your going on track id get a pressure gauge with a low limit warning...a bright light is easier to detect at speed than a needle on a gauge.
Due to your weight, sticky tyres etc i suspect you could fall into my category of oil starvation in corners on track...2 engines later....lol..baffle that sump!!! set low limit warning to 30psi so will be on at idle. ...and have you fitted a uprated oil press reg in sump? Clives got them in stock.

If your using the stock oil coolers these have oil bypass thermostats in there so oil will get up to temp quickly...max 110 deg C Oil is used for cooling in Rotarys. need a Coolant Gauge ideally too....

Another option is a Digi Dash...I use a BJR...cheaper than gauges.  :13:

Which god foresaken place is making you work nights on new years eve????

I have a few things to buy from Clive in the new year so ill get a sandwich plate, i think the one hole is 3/8 NPT but plenty of senders about.

Noted on the range and warning light.

Ive not done anything yet to the engine apart from exhaust manifold and braided oil cooler lines coz stock ones didnt fit.

If you have any info on baffling the sump ill do that and get a oil pressure regulator from clive.

I like the digi dashes like SPA and stack, but think they are more suited to your westy, ill stick with analogue lol....

Is the stock water temp gauge no good?

Stock gauge not linear i believe when it shows hot too late...gauges not cheap but cheaper than a rebuild. Defo on track need to know whats going on.

Prawns? Lol

Not disrespecting your job, but don't you live in like the most inland county in he uk? Haha

I work in the waste industry, so equally as glamorous.

God I wish I didn't use the stock gauges now, my dashboard could be so much simpler  :( :( :( :(

Yep its wierd...raw materials come in from South East Asia...we cook freeze and pack for uk supermarkets. Pretty old school i like it so much BS in food industry.
Check out BJR digi dash. Bout 500 dash all sensors etc rev gauge shift light...cheaper Acewell but they look naff.

Had a few prices for gauges from various places, Merlin tends to give me the spec I want for the right price.

Need to get my order in with Clive for the sandwich plate.....amongst all my other goodies.

Anyhoo, dashboard is out the mould, roughly got rid of all the flashing and offered it up.........

Fits like a glove! just gotta get the clocks, glove box door and heater vents to fit now.
