Looking at the pictures, I would Zircotec as much as you can afford at least the system from the engine block to under the car, especially where it goes through the body. BTW beautiful pipe work
Not sure if you have done much research on Zircotec but the coating is not to be confused with any other form of coatings which people often do.
I had my manifold, Turbo and down pipe coated. I am going to get the current Turbo coated like the old one was because even after a race you could almost lay your bare hand onto the housing!
Also have a look at Zircotec Zircoflex Form Rigid Formable Heat Shield as this kept my feet nice and cool in my footwell last weekend.
I actually blistered my foot at Brands through my race boot and wish I would have used it sooner.
Yeah, that's the plan. Mainly on the headers because they come upwards on my application, right next to the chassis so that will have the powdercoat melted off it, and the solenoids on the intake manifold, and the OMP stuff is really close, and the steering column, and, and ,and.
The decat pipe was either ceramic coating, or that yellow rigid stuff you shown, formed in a U channel and bolted to the bulkhead with the open end facing upwards and it will protect the belhousing and intake from the exhaust. Then some vents in the bonnet.
There are lots of options really. I could even combine heat protection i.e. exhaust wrap + heat shield. I know on the RE Amemiya 20b Lotus Europa he lined the bay with gold coated panels as that's a good reflector of heat.
Im a long way from all that to be fair, once the shell is painted I will be going belt n braces on the heat side. Im always thinking 3 or 4 steps ahead on all the stuff I do, (easy when youre an over thinker like me lol, screws up my personality tho) .... if I make this what else does it affect? yadda yadda...... where I fall down is my lack of knowledge on rotarys.... that's where you all come in
Thanks for the nod on the pipes, thankfully I don't need to redo the engine bay, just the stuff under the floor and near the diff. I really need to find out about the resonator and relocate that. Im buying some more pipe and bends today. I need to hack some more GRP floor away, but its under the fuel tank.... lol don't panic.
Oh and because of the diffuser, the tailpipe will be side exit, driver side so I can see any flames in the mirror lol.
