Pm me your address ive got about 3 in garage...BUT..i really would hook up a pressure gauge if it holds 4 bars all the way to red line then the issue is elsewhere...
Trust me when i say this, ive been there....ive got 3 fuel pots and 2 walbros from testing...
Test not guess i had 2 or 3 issues afteermy install and learnt the hard way lol.

I'll PM you.

I'm leaning towards that to be honest.
Might put standard pump back in. Not sure if I trust the one I have

Well after all of that I've had a bit of a brain storm. I've swapped over the rx8 fuel pump loom and the pump switches between high and low load. I have a feeling I've got a sticky relay. Just changing it now to see if it makes a difference

Looking at the 5 pot...looks like youve blocked the overpressure vent so fuel pressure will skyrocket...
The soldering iron trick is the clip that holds in the metal prv...melt it over so it cant (if it could) lift.

I must be misunderstanding something then. The pic of the rx8 setup is to stop the pressure relief valve from opening. I've essentially done the same for the mx5 one. The actuator will still be regulating the pressure (which I haven't touched) I've just stopped the relief valve from opening and blowing out.

I would be interesting to know what pressure the MX-5 regulates the pressure at.

Reading these posts,  if you stopped the internal pressure regulator from regulating then it may be an idea just to put a regulator in the feed line and do with.

Best not keep running the car with those AFR's until you know whats going on.

All the best Clive

The rx8 fuel pressure regulator looks different to mx5 one :(

Yes totatally different....does 5 tank have a syphon attached? Aa 8 tank is saddle tank...with hump in middle.

There is a syphon assembly but its a strange setup. No saddle style tank.
Debating whether to take it for a drive now. Just getting over a cold and I need to get out of the house

Hi mate, pls fit a temp fuel pressure gauge. Youll be able to determine if you have genuine fault or not...
Test not guess, i was in the exact same scenario as you hence a boneyard of fuel pump bits and pieces...
The rx8 pcm would throw a code if lean running im sure. Id be tempted to try a maf sensor too.
