Cheers.
Does anyone know where the "chip" is located in the key? Is it in the blade section or the buttons?

Problem solved. Now have working mx5 key blade with Rx8 buttons. Also works with immobiliser :)
Coil antenna earth issue sorted.
Whipped spark plugs out and gave it a good cranking. The engine sounded like it had decent compression before I took the plugs out which is good.
Probably bleed the brakes tomorrow and mock the exhaust up.
The steering angle sensor I bought off a mazda 6 doesn't fit, looks identical but has very minor differences :( ordered a rx8 one for £28 grr.
Nearly there, keep losing sight of what I've got left to do

Milestone achieved today :) tiny drop of coolant coming out of one of the hoses, nothing major :)

Exhaust isn't ideal but it'll do for the mean while.

Where is the barometric sensor located? I think its next to the oil filler tower. It was disconnected before I started the engine but i reconnected it. So hopefully an old fault code

Over on drivers shock tower but can go anywhere... wouldnt start if not connected.
Looks like issues with heater circuits on both o2 sensors..id check the resistance of both
Same colour wires are heater.

Can honestly say I don't remember seeing it.
I haven't got the rear o2 sensor installed. Was going to delete it on mazda edit. Did a bit of research and the concensus was it could run without it with map mods

Followed this with interest a job well done :notworthy:. I admire the likes of yourself and Jon (boosted), although I was an electrician, by trade, auto electrics just passed me by :sign0085: :)).

All a leaving curve really, I'm a mechanical pipefitter by trade turned office boy. I didn't even know how to solder cable or use a multi meter properly. Just thinking what I can move onto next. Should really pull my finger out and fix my 205 gti instead of selling it!
