Rebirth of my RX8
« on: September 05, 2016, 10:15:03 PM »
Well as a few of you know i recently had the misfortune of dealing with Hayward Rotary and after paying £4K for an engine build and some minor work i have come to the conclusion that their stage 2 port with ceramic apex seals was a waste of money as compression tested at 5.2 after 3000 miles and also no quicker than my old engine which is in my mates car.

So now to start again, firstly ive dropped my car down to Frankys Speedshow run by Jay Murray and Matty Johns and they have agreed to supply and fit the Kamekazi wide body kit and paint it in candy manderin orange over a silver base with liquid glass. And the roof will be done in real carbon fiber.
The wheels are 20" AXE EX20's with some serious width to them so i can put the power down.
The interior is having a full retrim also at Franky's Speedshop

Once this has been done the car is being delivered to Ben at Rotary Rev's who has ordered me a triple rotor 20b n/a which is currently running 450bhp on a PP, after running for 6 months we will be looking at a rebuild with a turbo which im told could give me 650bhp.

I will update this thread as i go along with various news and pictures.

I saw that car at Japfest, I like it :)
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Well just had an update from Frankys Speedshop, I've had new powder coated subframes fitted ,Poly bushed all round and Tein Mono 3 way adjustable suspension fitted.
The whole interior has been sent off for a complete retrim. should have the car back on the 21st of feb but the down side is the engine transplant isn't gonna happen till next year as i wanna use my car for show season.

Well yet another quick update ,I've just agreed to buy a VERY SPECIAL Petit Supercharged engine , don't wanna say too much about the engine apart from its been extremely well built an modified as has the supercharger.
Below is a pic of the subframes coming off ready to be replaced.
