Wow, what an excellent Japday which I will confess I enjoyed so much more that the Silverstone Japfest Event and it was great to see so many Rotary owners enjoying themselves   :wee_hee:

I wondered if this one would be too diluted so soon after Japfest, but no it still worked and feel it will stay established at Coombe where it is so much better that we can all see the track action, plus it has that indefinable thing called "atmosphere"

Historically MRC  has avoided Trax and it would seem that all Japfest has become is Trax for Japcars with little or no atmosphere compared to Castle Coombe  and quite honestly, unless a horde of MRC members wish to go, MRC will no go to the Silverstone Japfest next year.

All the best Clive

I echo what Clive has said above. I reckon the event was about 70% the usual "Japfest" size, which was much more comfortable than the overcrowded event that Japfest had become at Castle Combe in the past few years. Plenty enough people, cars, track action and trade stands to create a good atmosphere, but without the ridiculous hordes jamming the entry/exit roads and the perimeter roads at the circuit.

Gwyn and I took time out to walk around the complete circuit, which was a very pleasant experience, with only one slight "choke point" around Quarry.

All in all, a very enjoyable day out, even though I didn't go out on track  :)

Lol, that one pic, red Nolan helmet with yellow and orange stripes. I had that when I was a kid :)

Did Clive ride with Chris? Did Chris had coolant "issues" now? And who´s riding with Jon?

Well, I can understand Clive´s and Casey´s point. At Silverstone it was very "commercial" feeling, and I can see why Combe would have better atmosphere. Although Silverstone good thing in Silverstone was, because its so big, there where no massive human traffic jams in paddocks.

And nice photos :)

Ok. I bet that was fun cause its Jon´s hometrack. :)

Btw, I still feel frickin ridicilous, so embarrassed ;)

Oh, and meant to ask earlier; does your daughter like car scenes and does she drive tracks too?

Proud to say the RX-4 upheld Rotary honour amongst all those modified cars when the organisers picked it as on of the around 20 best of show cars, sending us all off on a two lap parade with interviews on the "grid"

Not just because the RX-4 was in it but I thought it was a great idea  because it gave everyone the chance to see cars that maybe they had not spotted.

I think Malcolm will have some moving pics of the 20mph "blast"

For those not on MRC facebook here's a link to all those modded cars.
