FD3S prop shaft marking
« on: April 09, 2016, 04:00:12 PM »
Hey guys

So I have been a bit of an idiot, and in hoping it's not all bad news but
hopefully someone here can shed some light.

I removed my differential to install a new 1.5way diff. I marked the companion flange and prop shaft before removal as per FSM.

Everything was OK, thought to myself whilst the diff carrier is out let me paint it and polybush it......yes paint. I totally painted over the mark I made!!!!  :-X

Even after removing the paint from the edge of the flange no mark was longer visible. So my question is, does it matter if it's not bolted up the same way as before. I mean I would assume the shafts are balanced units, and let's be fair if ours breaks or we buy a new one, there's no markings or specific way to put them on. So will i be ok?
