Looks like a headache! I notice the other clocks are the later ones with the boost gauge built in if you think the standard ones are big money they are stupid money. Your sitting on a gold mine lol

Found the pot on the tacho which is 2k out pretty much turned all the way right so set as the other 1....highly scientific....clean up soldered joints...cotton buds n electrical cleaner the contacts and see if can get em working.
All these parts on ebay ridiculous prices with so few cars left on the road.

Well ive read all the rpm tacho threads online and theres some clever peeps out there...
all i want is working rpm gauge accurate.
low coolant buzzer.
correct mph.
shift buzzer.
its seems the odometer board is the master and the tacho is the slave so my direct wire mod that worked with the plugs disconnected but went screwy when connected the odometer is causing the problems...its also 10 mph over at 70 mph...theres a pot on it to trim back...today is gonna be an interesting day of soldering and trimming pots and putting cluster in and not too many outs!

My speedo was also out by a similar margin but I've since recalibrated it. There's a blue adjustment screw within the cluster. It's very sensitive. About 1/10 of a rotation would be enough.

Here's the guide I followed: http://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/daleclarks-guide-calibrating-your-speedometer-1011051/

Working just been out 4 a blast...checked my oil leak all ok...if it was gonna leak then it wouldve done as i clear bit of road presented itself...rev gauge is lagging ever so slightly apexi but it works...still no shift buzzer im goona install a light as back up wires already in hanging down wrapped up.
Done in...need to know go to an oestopath.
Not a fun job atall.

Well it works im happy that i have working rpm gauge and retained the coolant low buzzer which for a track car is essential.

cant really put my finger on anything i done and got lucky....cleaned all boards with soft brass bush to remove corrosion on solder joints....any joint looking manky re-soldered and board then cleaned with electrical cleaner.
vr1 pot on rpm gauge adjusts gauge and lots i mean lots of put in and take out trimmimh pot to get in sync with apexi...and i mean lots and its finicky...
pot on odometer blue 1 calibrates it ive literally just trimmed it back a bit need to go out with satnav and see where it is.

on the drawings ive marked the tacho signal wire and tried as 1 forum post suggests direct wiring these...this did not work...just sent everthing screwy which does not make sense ...i tried all combination and still screwy... with all 3 connected and signals and polarity check all buzzers going off and rpm gauge having an eppyfit.

complete pita tbh....so mix n match got a working set....but oil pressure gauge does not work as with the new odometer that should control the boost gauge heyho got the defi gauges anyway.

Dax, allow some time and take some patience pils....
