Removing tailgate and doors on FD?

I am repainting my FD and to try and make life easy I am considering taking off the doors and tailgate. Firstly is that wise or will I regret it when it comes to refit and line it all back up. Secondly if it is okay to take them off are the harnesses going into the boot and doors easy to disconnect at the rubber seals or do they require pulling the plugs off all the connections and pulling the complete harness out of the door or boot?
Please can someone shed some light.

Hey dude

Doors are really easy, it's like 4 bolts in total or something, two on the hindge and one locking pin that holds the stopper in

The loom disconnects from one plug which is just inside the wing of the car as you open it, popps off pretty easy!

Thanks for the info. I had a look last night. I assume you need to peel back the rubber gaiter to see and release the plug? Looks and feels like you might be able to squeeze the sides of the gaiter to pop it off. But I had no joy trying. Also do you remove the hinges from the door or from the a pillar?

As Alex has said, no big deal to get the doors and things off--------------really is the only way to paint an FD properly  (yes pull the boots off )

Use a flat heat and ping them off, they're pretty strong!!!

Cheers guy's And the look that goes into the tailgate does that have a similar plug where the gaiter goes into the body or do the wires needs pulling back through the tailgate or disconnecting from under the roof lining or something?
I could paint it with them on but it makes it awkward to get around and you don't quite get full access of the door and boot shuts. Especially along the top of the boot.
