***TRACKDAY, Silverstone, Thursday 5 March***

A slight “twist” on our normal trackday format, and one that I hope you will like 

VENUE: Silverstone National Circuit (1.64 miles)

WHEN: Thursday, March 5th
FORMAT: One 30 minute session each hour, 9am-5pm, so expect to get ~7 sessions with a lunch break. Red flag incidents (if any) will obviously impact on actual tracktime. The REALLY good news is the track limit is 42 cars and ONLY 42 cars will be booked for each session, so NO pitlane waiting 
PRICE: Advertised at £189 but, due to a connection with the organiser, we have been offered places for just £150 WITH FREE GARAGE SPACE - and I’m pretty sure these garages will be the ones used by the F1 cars!). This is dependent on us taking along a group of 10 cars or more.
NOISE LIMIT: The usual 105dBA static, 102dBA drive by.
INSTRUCTION: Will be available on the day.
ORGANISER: Steve Vince, who runs the “Track Attack Race Club”. This is the Organisation that runs the Nippon Challenge Race Series, in which Clive is Racing his modified track RX-8.
TRACK INSURANCE: If you need track insurance, please check that your insurer will cover this specific event.
THE “TWIST”: This is a “Launch Day” for the 2015 Nippon Challenge, MR2 Race Series, Tricolore Trophy and more. One track session each hour will be for Race Cars driven by drivers holding Race Licenses, the other will be for drivers without Race Licenses (the one I’ll be in!). So, theoretically, we should have a “normal” trackday every 30 minutes and the chance to watch the Race Cars strut their stuff in the other 30 minutes. Hopefully, Clive will have his Race Car up and running so we can watch him on track

Japanese Performance Magazine are expected to be in attendance.

Places are clearly limited, so I need to know quickly if we have sufficient interest to make this work. To me, it looks a great offer, so I’m definitely “in”. I’ll sort out payment details later if this is “go”.

I'm doubtful that TWiR will have a new heart by then. What's the deal with coming to watch? Is that possible? Will wear rotary themed clothing to blend in (Clive Fanclub Banners not included)

Hi all,

Really hoping we see a good number of cars at this track day/ pre-launch for the Nippon Challenge which is the same sort of thing that the British Touring cars have.

Japanese performance should be in attendance, but there is a much much bigger reason I'm hoping, I want you to convert the disbelievers that Rotarys are not reliable----------- I get stick again and again that our cars are no good 

Over the years now I have witnessed people here collectively literally do thousands of miles during the track days you enjoy,

This event represents a pretty unique chance to show people just how good, quick and reliable your cars are.

(Dave anyone will be welcome to come along and watch and maybe even get rides)

    Sorry folks, I'm afraid this event is cancelled   

I just received this from the organiser;

"Many thanks for your efforts, unfortunately we have an issue with the contract
with Silverstone which came to light on Wednesday and we have been trying to sort out.
When we signed the contract last Friday we were asked to pay 50% within two weeks
of signing which wasn't an issue. On Wednesday they came back and said to get the date we needed,
as it was only six weeks away, we had to pay in full now ie £11k which we couldn't do.
We tried to get a compromise, to no avail, so my guess is some one with more
clout wanted it.
We spent yesterday looking for an alternative and the only date we can get that suits the budget
and location wise is Rockingham Sat 7 March which I am just about to publish on our web site
I am very sorry that, after all your hard work, its gone pear shaped. I can only apologise
to you and your members. Hopefully you will be able to join us on another occasion.
