Here are a few pics of the car during the last 8 years.

Not sure how to add pics so if someone can do that then thanks.

I still love this car as it was better than i could have expected, even back in 2006 when i bought it. I drove it to Le Mans classic in 2008 with my son and even with a stock 12a it went really well. However i wanted more power and having a 13b 6 port in my rx3 with the obligitory Ida on top, decided to build a special for this car. At the same time i swapped the front and rear suspension, but retained the drum braked back axle. Early last year i decided to do the track day at Brands, so knowing it would improve the breaking and gain the lsd, i fitted my s3 axle with 4:7 final drive, put a set of 14 inch aleycat rims on and got it motd the day before. I drove the car to the track, got it noise tested then did a few demonstration laps before the open sessions began. It went really well, handled nicely, even when pushed hard under the instructor\'s commands!  With the short final drive i had to hook 5th on the main straight, before entering Padock where it felt great, although a slight scrape from the rear tyre hitting the arch in the compression zone, 185 tyres would eliminate this or adjustments to the watts linkage. I have now listed it for sale in the ads. If it sells then someone will get a true classic that is fast, sounds lovely and will appreciate in value, or could go Historic racing in the Hscc 70s road sports.

Thanks, thats great. I found the rubber side strip a couple of weeks ago, shame it was missing at Brands!
I think it looked better on 13s, as the top photo, i tried putting 13 inch revolutions on it but they had too much off set with 205 tyres, still having the bigger brakes and lsd was a worth while trade off.
Very nice westfield by the way.

Ya, I bet it is quite rare in europe now... I like it. :) Is that original color?
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Thanks for the comments, it is the factory colour, it was from California, i have the original plate and shipping docs from 93 when it came in to the uk, plus owners club magazines from 79 through to 80 something. As stock it was ok but really needed more oomph, even with an elford exhaust and weber it was lacking that giggle factor that the 13b gives it.
I have a 12a motor stripped with good housings and lapped plates that i was going to stick some holes in but time has not permitted as yet. The racing beat carbon apex seals are in my filing cabinet with springs to suit.

Yes Dave it was a great day, and a learing curve for me, the 7 behaved very well considering the slippery start. I had intended to do some more, however karting has taken over the fun funds so i have had to limit the use of the yellow peril.
