Hi guys,

Recently i have been considering opting back into the performance car market as its been a while, however looking around the usual sites for cars is proving to be uninspiring. It seems in my absence that the market has kinda moved backwards and there is less of a choice out there now?

Value for money needs to be considered at the current fuel prices and living costs, something like a Evo 5 running 400bhp can be bought for approx £4995 with around 70k. A decent RX will now be around £6000 which is decent too, the price of the R33 GTR has seemed to have dropped dramatically too.

I will be putting my X5 up for sale today and if sold i will be looking high and wide to see if something interesting can be bought, hopefully i can get something which begs for ownership :Giggle

I would never buy a heavily modified car.
 What about an m3?
 audi rs4 avant 2.7 twin turbo 375hp standard
 monaro 6.0v8 400hp
 bmw m5 e39 400hp

I second the Audi, be it rs4 or s8 proper luxo-barges you want performance go small and powerfull-rx7 ,mr2 or focus pokey pokey power plant version

I third the audi b5 rs4

A mates got one with 550 hp and slightly more torque. Ok it might weigh as much as the titanic but it carries it well.

Yes, B5 Audi S4 and RS4 are awesome. But tiptronic versions are crap. That gearbox wont take that power, even if its stock.

E39 M5 is good too. But i think that its hard to find a good one. And E60/E61 M5 are awesome.

M3`s are good but they are quite small for family use. :)

M3 - Already had one, uses far too much fuel for the amount of power it returns, was not impressed.

Audi RS4 - newer ones are top dollar.

Monaro - 6 litres - not on these petrol prices

BMW M5 - as above.
