Rear brakes. Arrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
« on: August 14, 2012, 09:00:12 PM »
Bloody things! So after an MOT pass (just) the rear brakes have now decided to stick on. WTF! I\'m sure these cars know its Rotorstock this week and are playing up because they want too. Now I have to strip out the rear calipers tomorrow night and free every thing off. I even bloody serviced them this year too. Guess its my own fault for purchasing a rear brake winding too the other day for our family car, at least it came with the Mazda winding tool too :)

Someone tell me they are having issues too. I need cheering up.

I never put the handbrake on when I leave the car in the garage as it can sit for a couple of weeks, I have a gen 2 rear brake set up and found the handbrake isn\'t that great anyway!

Sorry to hear that Ade - hope you get it sorted in time for RS. If you make it there I\'ll make a mental note that if you go on the sprint circuit I\'ll keep well clear of you car\'s stopping zone :D

Hope to see you on Saturday :Thumbs-up

depends on the tool , have you got one that looks like it winds , or the little block one that fits on a ratchet ??

if its the winding one , they are dead easy , if fits INTO the claliper so it uses that as a back stop and winds the piston in .. simples :D

Can\'t remember where I bought mine, but this works on my RX-8 rear calipers. Used loads of times, very easy to use.

LINK HERE

If you look around you might find it cheaper elsewhere, but don\'t go to Halfrauds - the same tool there is showing at an eye-watering £32.99

I got mine off ebay for just over 20 quid but it has a right and left thread tool and loads of adaptors for different makes of car.

Can anyone remember which hand thread the fc uses? I can\'t.
