Club discount for tyres
« on: July 12, 2004, 09:41:15 PM »
Now primarily was doing it for eagle F1\'s but as it turns out can be done for any tyres they sell. Followed on from a planned group buy on scoobynet & the resulting deal offers 3% off their standard prices, which are the cheapest i\'ve been able to find & many others who offered group buy prices couldn\'t even match their standard prices! Twas a problem on previous group buys as everyone just went local & got folks to price match but i had no joy doing this with these particular wide bad boys

Anyway back on track the deal is as follows:

Go to http://www.mytyres.co.uk

Select desired tyres, sizes or otherwise

Place order & pay online kinda thing

email david at mytyres on black@delti.com  with your order number (which it gives you when placing order online) your name (& user name) & that your from Mazdarotaryclub (MRC) seeking the 3% discount as part of the agreed club discount. You can say the good lord scooby_si sent ya if you like he should know me by now with all the emails we\'ve sent each other

They dont charge the CC until tyres are despatched so shouldn\'t be an issue & even if it is ah i\'ll let the man speak for himself:
Quote
We do not charge the credit card until the tyres have been sent so if you
send me your details I will change the price and once the tyres are sent we
will take the amount from the credit card. If for any reason this is missed
then the difference will be refunded to the credit card. Some club members
in the past have emailed me after the tyres have been sent.

We offer the 3% to your club page this will always be the case no matter how
many orders we get. 1 or 1 hundred it will be a 3% discount

So there\'s no cut off date or quantity/group buy requirement just 3% off their listed prices.

I didn\'t want to post anything till i\'d done a test run & can safely say my nice new eagle F1\'s arrived today & were indeed charged at reduced & rather healthy price. So all good as far as i\'m concerned if anyone has problems let me know i\'ll chase it up.

I have no link with mytyres other than wanting to get cheap tyres for myself & the users of this club & hope that\'s of use to some/many of you .
Cheers
Si (AKA the tight one )

Should add from a time frame point of view the wider varieties as mine were, where the order/tyres are marked *** on the site will take a week for delivery and will not be a next day delivery as they come from their suppliers in Europe i\'m told. Although mine were ordered on Wednesday & arrived today so guess a week is worst case but FYI incase your ordering in a last minute rush

The blokes what do my tyres order in whatever I want, fit, valve and balance usually for less than Mytyres supply only, and they get them in next day . Mytyres are top suppliers though and beat most places by a mile so a club discount would make them even better. Some garages though will charge you far too much for fitting only compared with ho much it costs if they supply and fit. £7 to £11 +vat per tyre is about right but some want £25 per tyre.

If anyone within spitting distance of Gay Brighton wants tyres supplied and fitted then they\'re more than welcome to give me a call (01273 382456) or PM and I\'ll get a quote for you.

If you buy tyres from a different supplier to the one you use for fitting the best thing to do is get them done Saturday Morning ;)

Most tyre/exhaust places I know consider Saturday mornings to be cash in hand day, and so they charge you less.

This is from my experience but you can always ask.

Personally I use one of the larger places, well known and national but its a smaller site with only a couple of lads working there.

Example: I got them to remove my old tyres so i could powder coat the wheels, charged me £10 sat morning for all 4 off.

Went back when wheels were done, sat morning again, and they chraged me £20 for all 4 good year eagle F1 GSD3\'s fitted and balanced. The £20 of course went straight into the lads back pocket which is fine by me :D He gets paid for being there anyway so why not make a few quid on the side...

Like I said its worth asking. I have done this lots of times with exhaust stuff too, usually its a back hander for the smaller jobs;)

Hi just tried the site above and still find that Event Tyres "http://www.event-tyres.co.uk/" is still much cheaper. I can also say from previous orders woth them that they have been very reliable.

EG: 255/40/17 Falken was same price as the 235/40/17 tyre so i am very happy :rollin

Hope this helps out save a few quid during the "cr\'ex crunch".
