Pulley Kit
« on: July 10, 2004, 09:07:01 AM »
I am getting a mid pipe fitted, and reading through various posts on here it seems like i may as well get my air pump removed at the same time.

Sounds like i need a pulley kit to do this, can anyone recommend which kit to go for, also where i could get it from and how much it’ll cost.

Cheers

Si

The Unothodx racing full pulley kit does not eliminate the air pump.It underdrives the alternator power steering and waterpump by using a smaller main pulley.
The rest of the pulleys are the same size as standard, although you can remove the airpump with this kit or even with your standard set-up but the easiest way is to use the GReddy pulleys.Personally i don\'t like it as it leaves very little contact patch between belt and waterpump pulley.

Unorthodox full pulley kit-£300.00

Sounds like a good deal but will have to ask the dragon first.....  :flamed  :spank

You can remove the air pump with Unorthodox pulley\'s as they make a kit to do exactly this.

I\'ll rephrase, the UR full pulley kit by itself does not eliminate the air pump. As stated it can be done though. The air pump elimination kit can be used for this or with the standard pulleys to do this.

My understanding is that you need the air pump if you have the stock ECU, even if you remove the cat.

Thanks for all the replies.

I am having a Power FC going on at the same tie as the cat comes off, so it ought to be ok to drop the air pump.

Adam - £80 for the Greddy kit sounds like a great price - any idea where i can get that from? The work is all happening next week, so I need to go somewhere i can get one delivered this week, getting something from the states in time is probably a bit unlikely.

Cheers
