Taken the plunge and will be entering the last round of the Thunder Saloon Car Championship October on 27th/28th Brands Hatch (Televised) with the RX-8.
Tony Gilham the owner of BTCC Team Hard is kindly donating a set of Dunlop slicks as I am interested in seeing how the car will perform.
Need to fit a new clutch this week then off for more mapping by Pip at WGT next Saturday morning to find even more mid and low range power. Then the following week I need to convert my Kazz diff to a 4.3 ratio as this will give me more legs in 3rd and 4th plus a longer 1st is going to help off the line.
Lots and lots of money being spent in this series and whilst I'm really pleased they have all welcomed me with open arms, because I'm Rotary and Turbo they have put me in the top 2wd class and I'm up against real quick expensive cars like you can see in the pictures, big ex-works V8 Aussie touring cars, turbo cossys ex BTCC cars etc. The Mustang you see below turned up last week backed by a full blown race team in a fairly new ex formula one artic, wow these guys are spending serious money!
Going to be tough against this type of big money grid, just hope the RX-8 will be quick enough with some decent grip to uphold Rotary Honour
