Right Clive...
Fan control.
3 relays.
2 fans 1 bigger than other. 5 blade fan 11.9 a
7 blade fan 7.0a.
2 triggers, temps i dont know, see whats in your pcm

First trigger just relay 1...see piccy.
That is slow speed both fans in series..
Then 2nd trigger relay1 stays in..relay 2 and 3 come in (1 output from pcm brings these in.)
Both fans hi speed. R3 is a changeover relay live to neutral...could short out and blew fuse...with jumpers..best leave alone...if pulling air through rad correct way.
See piccys...

Huge thanks Jon, hopfully I will have more info later.

Wow, at least we know why the engines running hotter now, take away the speed sensors and it affects the speed of the engine fans-----always learning  ???

Not looked into this yet but if need be can we not find the wires out of the ECU and simply use the high and low feeds to fit a pair of switches as the relays and all the wiring is there all ready. Or am I looking at it with with my "simple glasses on" ?

On a different note, new super light boot lid skin that will dump loads of weight and completely modified rear wing will be on for the track sessions at the Brands Tuner Fest this weekend

OK Lewis put his Mazda Edit on the car and changed the vehicle speed from 10 KPH to 200KPH ! and then lowered both fan temps down to 80 degrees, so lets see what that brings at the weekend.

p.s. Jon, your mended rad is on its way back

Cool did you test fans, prove pulling air through rads?

No, I will die if I run the car long enough to get the car warm in my in my underground garage ??? I will find out at this Sunday at Brands

If the engine still gets warmer than it used to I think the best bet will be this route.

ok mate, well at Brands, test then, jumper relay 1 with ign on, not running engine, like you said paper trick, under car, if both fans running good and both pulling through rad, if there both pulling through low speed then they will both pull through high speed. if 1 is blowing then i have made a polarity mistake in loom and the simplest way to rectify is too isolate power and to swap polarity at fan plug end....

just for knowledge what were the temps originally set in PCM?..oem is high 102 and 115deg C?

so both temps set at 80degC your going into High speed both fans on so a 19A draw just need to be aware of that when idling in the pits/ holding area with your alternator.

next time Lewis back get him to put a 1100rpm idle target in?

Ah, so with relay 1 operating, both fans are in placed series, so the voltage drop will be 6v across each (if they have identical resistance), so both will run at low speed. When relays 2 and 3 kick in, both fans see 12v. Nice relay switching arrangement that I'd not quite got my head around before - now I understand!

ECU was locked out so it had to be overwritten, so no idea what they were set at.

I always try and watch the volt meter any way plus it ticks over at just over 2000 revs which has kept the engine running whilst performing pirouettes :-[

Boot and new wing is coming along,
Just had a trial fit on the super light fibre boot lid, just got to prep, paint and work out how to fit it on now

Trying now to develop the car more and more now.

Tore out the arch liners completely and cut these apertures you can see below in the back edge of the front wings so air can only come out not in.

According to what I read in my monthly Race Tech and Race Car Engineering mags this should not only aid brake and oil cooler cooling, but also increase front downforce by drawing air out and turbulence from under the wings as the air passes over the top of the wing----------well that's the theory  ;)  You cant see it in the pictures but it looks weird looking at the tyre down through the wheel arch  :)

One more development with hidden benefits as you will be able to monitor tyre wear as you drive the circuit.  :)) :))
