Clive's 470 BHP Super GT RX-8 Race Car
« Reply #2251 on: December 12, 2018, 09:36:13 PM »
This post is a thank you post to all you good people who have either assisted or supported my efforts through thick and thin, initially to get the car to win races and now to become a Championship Winning RX-8.  :thank-you:

Because I was racing in a different series, on the day of the end of year Track Attack Trophy presentations, I obviously did not attend and with a lot of different winners I had no idea who won what over the course of the season.

Literally only last night that I found that with 2 Overall Wins 4 Class wins and 2 Poles it gave me the Super GT/ Multi-marques 2018 Championship.
All the best Clive

https://id-workz.co.uk/gizzmo-ibc-r-boost-controller

this is the link to the Gizzmo... Duty can be changed per 500 rpm so different boost settings at different rpms, launch  low rpm low boost wheel hook up boost.  4K high boost Rocket launcher mode

I have this fitted on my car but not controlling boost, prob take me an hour to get out...happy to send to you and you have a back up if the Adaptronic cant control the wastegate....and can it change boost dependent on rpm?

You could install (cable tie stylee)  :violent1: :13: live and neutral, run the solenoid and vac hose through to engine bay before you go to Pips?  got the solenoid etc but you got that already...

Ive got the manual as well etc.

Upto you ....could save a few ££££ and wasted journey, its doing nothing on my car atmo. :P

Thanks Jon, I never stop a good volunteer  ;)

I would be interested to see how they  plumb a single Turbo in the manual?.

Had a good day up at Pip's (WGT Auto Developments)  today with around 3 hours on the Dyno fine tuning my new wastegate system.

Finally the ECU is seeing the boost through the solenoid operating the wastegate on the closed loop system shown below.

Same BHP at just 1 Bar (14.5 psi)  but now the boost holds because before it was bleeding off a third of the boost available immediately, boost also comes in 1000 rpm earlier  :great:

Also found that the car started running out of fuel despite showing over half a tank of fuel, which tells me that the fuel is not being siphoned across from the other tank,so I need to pull out the new pot and find out why.

I now have a switch on the dash that cuts the solenoid off and the wastegate goes to 0.8 Bar (11 psi) and this lower boost setting should help get the car under way without lighting the tyres up so easily, then once underway I can flip the switch to give full power  :)

Car "should" now be a fair bit quicker going into the new season with a consistent 410 BHP at the wheels   ;D

Excellent news...the tank syphoning issue  might simply be the pipe detached?

Nice!  :sign0098: 1000rpms earlier can make a big difference... 410bhp at wheels? Thats about 470-480 from engine?

When you look at a piccy of the tank it really is a saddle tank...its like 2 saddle bags on a horse...its gotta be the syphon not pulling over from drivers side.
