and if you do lie prepare to meet the whirlwind when it does get nicked or you get your legs smashed up, be prepared for the insurance company not to pay out and you getting nicked by the police.
To lie to get an insurance policy is the same as not driving without insurance , both are offences.
I work for an insurance compnay (albeit for their IT dept), and my company spend a lot of money on anti fraud software and techniques, trust me we catch out a lot of so called liars come claim time. And Police do get called.

Dont risk it be legal

If the details you give to an insurer are incorrect and are found to be so then you\'re uninsured.  That\'s illegal and as it\'s not some victimless crime like, for example, running a decat pipe, it cannot be condoned.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

I know im gonna get slated for this but i don`t care. If you want cheap insurance just lie. Even if you have a modded rex with £20k+ spent on it you wouldn`t get half the amount if you crashed it.

I\'m sorry but putting that on a forum for car enthuasists is asking for trouble. I\'m very honest with my insurance and it\'s not cheap, I could easily lie and get a cheaper quote but as everyone else has said you\'re asking for trouble come claim time. Kindly do one :Hammer

thats the most stupid thing I\'ve heard all day. As if a 20yr old isn\'t gonna get pulled by the fuzz for driving an FD. Then he\'d get busted then his insurance would go up even further. Don\'t be an ass. Insurance ain\'t fair but you\'ve got to have it and have it right.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Sadly that is not the thing to do fella, have it insured properly or you will lose big if something happens.

Group 20 insurance aint cheap, and if you are young then its a nightmare but be sensible

Try Sky Insurance, Noel Dazely, and Need2Insure
They all gave sensible (well £1100) when others were over £2000

I was 24, 5NCB at time...incidently I\'d stick with a standard car for now

Maybe get a UK car? Does make quite a difference...my friend is only paying £600ish at 22-23 I think

I cant believe you even tried using a generic search engine for your insurance, you need to understand these cars are difficult to insure. Im not saying its impossible as I insured mine at 19. Im now 23 and paying £380 fully comp. You just need to take the advice of others on here, call around the specialist insurers and get a quote, even if it is crazy high then call another, get them to beat it and then back to the original keep doing this with multiple insurers till you find that its not going any lower, then try adding in some variables, e.g limited mileage + other people on the insurance plan and so on. play them at the insurance game, its all about margins, thats how they make the money.

grab a max power or banzai magazine and look in the back for potential insurers to call.

The best advice so far is get an fc egi or t2, Im with peter best on a classic policy with limited mileage, declared exhaust and its £101 fully comp, called last week to add the gf to my policy and it only cost £15...bargain even if i am spending £100 per week on fuel! :Laugh
Plus if you can afford an fd you could get a top notch fc for less money if you can find one.
Good luck whatever you decide :Thumbs-up

buy a cheapo diesel, get your towing license and tow it to tracks.

there\'s no way i\'d be trying to insure - let alone run - an FD at 20!
