Agreed Valuation policy!?
« on: March 25, 2011, 12:38:14 PM »
Hi guys,

Insurance is up soon and car is currently under going a complete make over with a new kit and respray. It already has a single turbo setup, teins, volk wheels, blah blah...Im currently with Admiral and have been for the past year but they do not do agreed valuation policies and needless to say it is worth probably double book price so in the event i need to claim i\'d be royally FDUKED!

Does anyone know of a good value company that do agreed valuation policies?? Its a 94 so generally it doesnt qualify for classic car insurance :(

cheers, tom

The Most unprofessional and the most rude company I have ever come across is Adrian flux. I will never recommend anyone to go there.

i was insured with performance direct stock insurance was 300 quid when i modded it i asked for all the mods to be covered and they put my insurance up to 850 a year . after all the mag issiues and other parts i wanted the cover to be more than the first year. to which they informed me that i had no extra cover and the car was still insured for a standard car with no mods at 3000 pounds so if i stuffed it no pay out .!so i left rather rapidly after a heated telephone convo
adrian flux where the only company available that i found would cover all mods and insure the car for what i said it was worth .
yes there not that brilliant i have had issiues with them before too but needs must the car is covered for the right amount now !

I don\'t wanna put da whole story up on her, but I have been insuring cars for over 7 years and I have to say Adrian flux is the only insurance company which made me feel that I m not even worth a decent chatt. When I told them I m a guest member of MRC, they said "wat is that, anyways lovely" wat an idiot and dum reply... If anyone wants to get embarrased or wants to feel being an idiot, do give them a call. From now on, I will keep andrian flux reference for my enemies so that both of em can enjoy each others commonality. Loll

Right, ive spoken to quite a few companies over the last couple of days and as it stands the only company that will give me an agreed valuation policy on my modified fd is Adrian flux!

Reis currently does not agreed offer agreed valuation on jap imports,
Peter Best will only cover from age 30+ ,
And after going through multiple brokers the story was the same with everyone else!

To be honest, my first experience with adrian flux was nothing but pleasurable... the lady i spoke to was very helpful, she seemed to understand the time and effort that goes into our modified cars, she asked if im a member of any owners clubs etc and knew what i was talking about when i answered!

25, 3 years ncb, PO36, 1994 fd, highly modded (single ec), agreed £9500, 6000 miles, like 4 like mod cover... £660

A small shout out for: http://www.classiclineinsurance.co.uk
Well known and widely recommended by/to UK hot rod and custom car builders so well used to sourcing cover for specialist, modified or oddball cars.

They do offer agreed value and limited mileage policies though age restrictions etc may vary for different cars. (I\'m long past the point where it matters LOL)  They answer their phone, are very easy to deal with and, in my experience, are both responsive and efficient.

I\'ve never tried Peter Best because their requirements for an agreed value policy seemed quite complicated but none of the above endorsements for Classic Line would apply to my experience of Adrian Flux or Aon. That said, the reported quote from Flux (above) seems relatively modest given the age of the proposer, mileage allowance and the car specifications. The customer feed back was positive too so perhaps things have changed.

Might be worth mentioning that many agreed value policies come with a \'no cancellation\' clause so check that if the car is not likely to be with you for the full year or you could end up paying to insure something you have sold.  It is bad enough having to insure it when it is sitting idle in the garage but heartbreaking to still be doing it once it has gone!
