EGi compatible diffs?
« on: February 29, 2008, 07:01:21 PM »
Does anyone know what (open) rear differentials are direct replacements for  an EGi?

I\'ve done loads of searching and found conflicting info - possibly a late MX-5 or B2000?

I\'m looking for the tallest ratio possible for a track car (quickest acceleration possible, not too bothered about top speed)

I can\'t afford to swap or modify the box (unless anyone knows any \'tricks\' with regards to swapping gears) and I\'ll need a non-lsd as I\'d like to have it welded.

Thanks :)

hello,

sorry but your outta luck if you want a different ratio :( unless you get a factory mazda or aftermarket made crownwheel and pinion

reason, the pinion on the fc is really really long and no other diffs have the same length pinion, so you cant change ratio because you need both the crownwheel and pinion

i havent found any aftermarket for the fc, and to get made would probably cost more than the car
try a search for aftermarket crownwheel and pinion, if you find anything post up :)

you could use the crownwheel from another model car, if you got a longer pinion made up same as the short pinion teeth, to suit the crownwheel

hope info helps
