Okay while browsing at work i saw this and wonderd.... what exactly is the point behind this lump of metal. if it was a cylinder engine i could understand doing that on the headgasket but why with a rotary would you extend the tube lengh?

I have seen a gasket like that where there was holes to put extra injectors.
. On NA rotary it might affect the torque and power curves But no real point on a turbo rotary

not sure about the metal ones, but i have seen plastic spacers, they are suppose to limit heat transfer from the engine. Whether it works or not, i dont know.

I saw the plastic ones but nothing as "wide" as this one. it seems odd that its touted for the FD as well :2Confused

I dont think thats an FD UIM. Could be an adaptor plate. Also may give you more clearance under teh UIM for some reason you might need it...

sorry, i meant LIM. I\'m 90% sure thats not an FD LIM, hence could be an adaptor plate to fit an FD UIM to a something else LIM. Not sure why youd want to though!

Was going to say it would drop the peek power point down the rpm range if it was just a spacer on a N/A car.

The plate inbetween the uim and lim im sure is for aditional injectors, on the side you cant see there is holes to mount injectors.
Seen em on crescent.
I could be wrong :)
