HKS hard pipes in need of polishing...
« on: October 26, 2007, 02:59:30 PM »
Hi All

I have the HKS racing suction induction kit with proper HKS hard pipes.

What do I use to get them clean / polished? where do I get it from? I don’t want to go mad but I would like them to look new and shiny.  They don’t look too bad thou..

Any ideas?

Regards,
Michaelb

Theres a polishing kit on ebay for about £40 but it\'d take a few days to get to you...and unless you have a very good drill and dremmel its not worth it...as i said its very time consuming aswell :)

You can get Autsol from local Motor Factors and that is good but doesnt work well on unpolished stuff...

you can wet and dry it first than polish compound than autosol. Or if they\'re not too bad just autosol and elbow grease.

Are you talking about these pipes?

I used Autosol metal polisher with some cloth. If you dont think its shiny enough after that then use some water and fine sandpaper then use the Autosol and it will "BlInG" :p I only used Autosol and a cloth to get mine like that.

the amemiya pipes i got were so scratched up i wirebrushed them with an electric drill, then went down the sandpaper from 400grit to 1500grit, then autosol and it was fine. Not mirror finish but a very even satin look.

Thanks for that...Incedentally the pipea I am talking about are the HKS Racing Induction Kit...I must say that one could eat off your pipes they are so clean.  Can I get the autosol from Halfords?  The fine sant paper is also a very good idea, I will get some too...
