Just picked this up at the weekend. Not sure what to do with it yet. I was gonna put it back on the road after re-building the engine, But who ever removed the engine etc has made more work for me than I really wanted. Anyway heres some pic\'s. It may have a life on the track yet though  :3gears-rh

That looks like the scrapyard butchers have been at it!!! *******s! Those marks on the side look like chain marks!

Still, if you can get her on the road or track it will be cool!

Maybe I thought it looked like it had been spun and hit a fence or something I never thought about chains as its only on one side.

why is there more work?,   looks pretty complete to me.   there are lots of cheap spares around to replace anything thats missing

The mechanical side of it I don\'t mind. Im quite happy to have a go at a re-build on the engine and to put all the bits back together. Its all the wiring i\'ll have to do as most of it\'s been cut and I know jack s**t about body repairs. Plus i\'ve been given a dead line of when I have to move the car by as its not at my place and i\'ve nowhere else to put it.

Looks like its been lifted on chains and slipped so all the weight was on one side  Seen it before - that would also explain why the loom has been cut. (Typical scrapyard, if they can\'t find a quick release they will just cut it, yank it or tear it out)

I have re-loomed (The whole lot front to back !!)  my cab to UK spec due to an engine upgrade.  Let me know where its been cut, ie engine loom or from the bulkhead back.  Learned lots doing it.  I also have got some really good aircraft spec inline crimps that are neat and tidy,only just bigger than wire diameter, comes with sleeves. can sell you some for a few pennies if you let me know what needs joining.  Unfortunately i do not have any spare looms for you. Plenty of scrappers around and will only take maybe 3-4 hours to rip out, probably less as i had to do the dash,doors and rear as well.  The loom is in 4 major sections.

Its been cut at the engine. Im thinking i\'ll end up either breaking the car or selling it on to someone who wants a project. i just don\'t have the space for long or the money at the moment. We will see though I get attached to things like this! I would really like to do a rebuild on the engine just to say I had done one even if only to sell it in the end. If I break the car it would free up some money for that but it seems a waste some how.

well thats good news but if its unrepairable(anything can be fixed !!!) then its a new engine loom, pain in the aR%e but fairly easy.  As usual is well buried and quite a few things have to be taken off.  I expect they took the lazy way and cut it to get the engine out.  It would have only taken 15 mins to disconnect it at the ECU and feed it through.!!!  I actually haD TO do this on an EGI engine so know exactly why and what to do etc.  Try not to scrap it though, far better back on the track or road.

Ok. I\'ve been talking to some friends who are interested in seeing and helping in a rebuild on the engine. Can anyone give me a rough figure of what it would cost in parts alone providing that the rotor housings are ok to re-use. Cheers guys.
Oh and just so my other one doesn\'t feel left out or get angry I think I should mention she had a good wash and wax today. (I think she is feeling left out. And then theres the wife too!)

Yeah refitting an engine loom to and engine isnt that hard at all, just make sure u mark up the old one if ur unsure. You need to take off the inlet man. and possibly the rats nest (might be able to squish it under)

Yeah i\'ve been toying with the idea of putting the doors on my other coupe but then I would need to install a keyless locking/unlocking system on it also. It does look good all flush like that though.
They open by magic Stu you just need to know the password!
