Hi guys,

I thought I would create my own thread just to formally say hello.
Im an Aussie living in Tokyo and acquired my FD in May. Since then Ive been travelling the country, going to events to work out the best modifications to make to my car.
Ive been to many events and the following causes confusion.

On the circuit RE Amemiya + Taniguchi are a tough combo.
In Drift land Apexi + Imamura are a tough combo.
On the Street Mix and Miguel are a tough combo.

In my land. Tokyo, the sheer amount of performance parts manufacturers creates a problem. Which ones have the best bits for the best job.

As miguel :wave  has displayed, A mix and match approach yields fantastic results. But in OZ (where I will return to) my friend has a 20b powered FD which is just crazy in the power department but handling has not been ignored either. I also have the opportunity to purchase this car next year.

So what is happening to my car?

At the moment.
1994 Type R FD3s RX7
HKS Rear Muffler,
RAYS Volk SE37W forged Mag alloys in 18x8.5/225 and 9.5/255
HKS Hyper Damper MAX II
RE Amemiya Greddy 9 Bonnet
Cusco Rear Carbon GT Wing

In the future?
I have an RE Amemiya GT AD wide body kit due for install
and a few performance parts. Exhaust, Intake and Power FC

After that, who knows, but 1 thing is for sure. With the help of forums like this. I can get in touch with people to guide me in the right direction.

Russ.

Welcome Russ from all the MRC Team,

You should find a very English / Aussie feel in here as although we are a U/K club our chairman Glenn is not only Australian but also back home for a year.

p.s. hopefully you will keep us posted on the Tokyo scene

p.p.s did your mate chuck the 20B back through the bulkhead to keep his handling ?

All the best Clive

Thanx guys.
The bronze SE37W wheels on my car were a bargain "find" in a second hand shop. They are very unique. I have never seen another set and they dont appear in the volk Catalog. They are the same weight as TE37.  Very light indeed.

Clive.
No, he has is the engine in the same position and its better than you would think. I have driven it a couple of times and It really is still nicely balanced. He has Tein coil overs all round and its very stiff. You\'re more worried about traction than anything. Once the rack was repositioned He says its much better with bump steer.
I havn\'t been back to Oz since April, so I cant comment first hand on the latest mods First hand. He just says its a monster.

If you have any specific Q\'s I\'ll forward to him.

Russ.

Whats the engine/turbo spec Russ? What boost does he run? Just wondering, hope to have my FD running in the not TOO distant future and am wondering what the power/torque will REALLY be like...only ever been in a JC Cosmo with a 20B and that went \'ok\' ;)
