Hey everyone,


The person who put my car through it\'s SVA last year decided to have the rear fog light cut into th rear bumper.

I just wondering whether to leave it for now or have it taken out and the bumper made good and resprayed.

I just wondered what some of your opinions are on how it looks, I can\'t make up my mind if it looks OK or not.

Its not great.  Id have had it in the reversing light after using a stick on thing for the SVA.

Dont think id go to the effort of having it fixed though, might even need a new bumper.

That looks bad to me.  I had one of the reversing lights replaced to be a fog, you don\'t even notice it

Sorry i dont like it either, makes the back look too fussy.  Mine screws on underneath the number plate for the MOT and then comes off again straight away.  When i get round to it i\'m going to wire it into the central brake light.

new bumper! to get ure car passed the mot just fix a foglight under the bumper then take it off ! all fog lights look crap on fds, u dont need 1 by law! i never use 1 and swear wen it is foggi and the people keep them on 6 days after the fog has lifted!

looks OK although kinda hard to tell maybe easier with face on rear view, if that aint a bad description.....

the cheaper way of fixing it - put a matching one on the other side :D

Unfortunately you do need one by law - it\'s a reversing light you don\'t need! (you can get fined for it if they know you havn\'t got one but they never know if it\'s integral to the cluster so no one really gets fined)  I had to go through this for the SVA on my Westfield.

Doesn\'t look as bad as some of the others but I have to agree that one ov the reversing lights would have looked nicer, sorry :)

every import ive had (mr2, rx7,wrx and evo) ive put 1 on 4 the mot and sva then un bolted them, ive been lucky then

No worries mate - I only knew cause Westfield didnt supply a reversing light and I was "hey, you forgot something!" :rollin

The SVA can be very hit and miss so I have heard - The chap who did mine was just a top bloke - Let me change things, adjust things, he even tidyed up a bit of wiring for me :)  I have heard of other places which pick on silly things and insist you re-book and pay for another test!  :2eek

Quite neat as aftermarket fitments go.
Common alternative is the RIGHT reverse light position-easy re-wiring.
Filling that hole without a ghostly dip will be tricky.
Saying that, few older cars are without imperfections unless closely scrutinised! :Hammer
Basically, this is not a major issue when treating the car as a whole...we all nit-pick our own cars, but remember they are seldom perfect ;)
