Grant, well spotted I have just seen the Super Cup cars have nothing to stop your arms flying out the window whilst rolling.

Years ago a friend of mine rolled at Lydden and as a reaction put his arm out the window and held onto the roof!!

He left imprints of his fingers on the roof but did not break them.

We showed  him lots of sympathy by painting the outline of his fingers in red on the roof  >:D

I have actually been considering a window net for next year anyway.

OK Grant, what racing are you thinking of doing ???
Drag racing, but a few track days might be needed as iv only ever done 1 and if I have a but of talent I might try some circuit stuff but that will all be decided once it's running etc.

Safety gear will be a massive priority. Don't carw about weight savings as iv got kids to think about rather than winning stuff.

My first goal is to. Just have fun, and I am already by working in my car

Philip was even a star more than normal as the steward wanted the picture card to help with the crash investigation and the card was corrupt.
Luckily Philip salvaged all the footage  :great: :great: :great:

Still haven't had time to view yet,  but Jon tells me he dissected the footage frame by frame and worked out that I got up on the kerb right near the barrier and also lifted to let him go and  also apparently you can hear my dismay at what happened.
All the best Clive

I hav said this many many many times:
Safety stuff isnt best option to save money. Absolutely get Hans and Fire extinguisher system

Lähetetty minun G8141 laitteesta Tapatalkilla

To echo jarno's point on safety.

I've just watched this vid on Facebook, I found it quite disturbing

https://www.facebook.com/giuseppe.sparco/videos/616179718788237/

It's not gory, or needs 18 warning.

But it's the thought that you buy safety equipment in the hope in the event if an accident, it keeps you safe but it lets you down.

Not many marshals close by 😞😞

I hope the driver makes a speedy recovery

Having now watched the video there were many attempts by cars to block an overtaking manouvre by moving off the racing line in front of other competitors, which is always risky and invariably ultimately ends in disaster :nono:, this was a last ditch attempt to achieve the win simply hoping you would back out as you had the racing line IMO. I am assuming this is what the race control decided. Maybe I have lost the racing instinct but I was never win at all cost, especially knowing I had to drive my vehicle home afterward :(. (In fact I never did win any race so what do I know :dontknow:)
Finance dictated it had to go 13 months ago,  after 14 years in an RX8 regretted ever since.

Holy crap 8 just watched the lad crash. I have no knowledge of racing craft and I think that he completely clocked up there

Clive I think you need to add a "push to pass" button add a couple more pounds of boost

OR

Try add some more lightness

Main reason for me getting an mx5 was the light weight Ness. I'm hoping to get it under 1000kg

Didn't you notice, I had push to pass on the back straight------- if I hadn't of passed them I would have pushed them, hang on that's not quite what you meant was it  ::)

Finally got the car on a weighbridge on Saturday and yes she's a big ol girl, weighing in with a full bladder (fuel tank) at  exactly 1250  Kilo

1250 is actually not that bad but another 100kg lighter would, even 50 kg would probably make a huge difference
