Well sheer grit and determination should see you clinch that 1 sec.

Im not familiar with the layout of the track and having never done a track day ........yet.......... I cant offer any advice.

Wouldn't mind taking a trip down at some time as a spectator see what its all abooot.

Hopefully the brap brap brap and the smell of burning oil in the air will be enough incentive to sell my house and plough it into the car lol
Its just Rotors and GRP

Lol its grit and determination thats got the 1.15...theres nothing left in me or the car for the 1.14 in present guise...its now suffering push on understeer i can make the apex its the corner exit now making the turn after the apex...pretty much putting in lots of steering but understeer due to corner entry speed...maybe wider front slicks or some aero...

Im assuming here........

Is this the difference when teams have an open cheque book, that can throw loads of money at the best tyres, aerodymanics etc. and blow £10k to get an extra 1 sec.

If youre on the cutting edge, then you cant ask any more of yourself man.

You could trial and error some wings on the front so it resembles an Audi Quattro pikes peak car, but it my head, it may not make it cut through the air as well, more downforce, slower top speed on the straights......

I guess that depends on the track and how long the straight is......

Active aerodynamics? Im joking...

So tell me, whats so elusive about the 1:14 ??? is that the circuit record?

Lol at the time if the car was 1.14 and the class i thought it was going tobe in wouldve been fastest in class and maybe the championshio...there now doing 1.08.
Mark Funnel a former Special GT champion who is a mate of a mate followed me for 4 laps in his honds k20 supercharged exige  on a trackday...then outta no where ducked up my inside...i was on it he just outbroke me and turned into corner half a lap 100m infront...that car does 1.10 round combe 5 secs a lap is a lifetime.
Aero i think will create drag...which would prob negate the corner speed with slowing the speed down the straights...maybe a quicker steering rack? And wider front tyres..prob cheapest and easiest ti try.

Wow 5 secs is a lot.

I still think your being too hard on yourself. Or that's the impression I get.

Your car is so quick, and look I'm no expert, but does the fact it's a Westfield hinder you?

There an ace vehicle, and like 10 miles down the road from me. But your not mixing apples with apples. An exige would have been in a wind tunnel, has a bit more weight to plant it in the corners with traction, maybe wider front track.

Westfield styled around a car from the 60's in the sense of 7 replicas.

I dunno I'm clutching at straws.

I'm not suggesting you sell it either, but stick mark funnel in the same westy and I bet you're closer than you realise.

I just thought of something:

What kind of diff you have?  Could it be that your diff is causing your massive understeer. If it "locks" when you are braking, all fast spinning masses of drivetrain are acting like you are still on throttle, and it causes car to understeer...

One thing could be also that your rear links are too "agressive". In rallycross, if links are too agressive, it causes car to understeer. Links "bites" too hard and starts to push car. But it only happens when you are coming on to throttle...

And with these too combined, it could be the problem. Although from memory, your links didnt looked so agressive. Howerer, diff only can do that. Dunno for sure , just spitballing here mate

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Both are very quick cars , him passing you at  that Speed is the same rate as you passed me lol .two interesting points there
- you could well be on the limit with the car / chassis you have - it is be far the quickest Westfield  that has passed me . I normally pass them if they running a zetec or similar .
And secondly other diff , Clive will know that answer ?

Putting them 9j slicks on rear has transformed car..(previous 7j) from skittish oversteering but lovely turn in to planted rear end but lack of turn in now push on understeer...diff is fine imo tans x plated lsd..it hooks up fine. I much prefer it how it is now...the easiest way forward is wider 8j fronts me thinks.
I do think though there aint much more init though. 94 chassis live axle lol...but then you see the silouette cars putting in 1.08 on live axle cars on old tech does make me wonder.
Keeping my eye on ebay for some wheels..

Can you get a quicker rack? If that helps.,

Does the camber/castor/toe need dialling in?

Corner weights set up..

Stiffer springs at the back softer at the front I dunno.

I'm just throwing random stuff out there to provoke a lightbulb moment

Try your wide tyres next season, see how yo do.....
