The Wife\'s RX8

Just through I would post some pictures of the wife\'s RX8. It\'s an 2004 High Power 231 Winning Blue she\'s been in the family now for 2 years and the wife is still in love with it and puts a smile on her face every time she goes out in her. One of the best colour I think.

Still looking very nice - good shine. I\'m actually about to get my 2005 RX-8 professionally polished and the superguard reapplied.

I love winning blue - would have been my second choice except my old 323 was a very similar colour so needed a change.

looks like a very tidy one! and you are of course 100% correct on the colour "winning" blue by name and by nature!

Quick Update Just had a new coil pack and plugs fitted at WGT OMG! kathy (the wife) did not realize how slow the car had become its only covered 37k would recommend getting them changed if you have noticed a drop in power ASAP! be for it does any damage to other things.

Looking at changing my coil packs, leads etc at about 20k miles (which isn\'t far away now) just about everyone I know that has changed them have found a marked improvement :Thumbs-up.
Guess it\'s a case that you don\'t notice the loss of power when it happens over time.

Gota admit Im totally torn between the Blue and the Grey myself.

Reckon it could be just down to if I find the right car in either colour I\'ll be happy, is the wifes car totally standard?

Yeah apart from uprated coils which was done at pip\'s (WGT) and the bling bits on the air vents on the wings and rotary crest above the front spliter.

and how do you feel it compares handling wise to your 7?

at the minute I would say the 8 handles better then the 7 only because it on 18 years old standard suspension setup (bushes and shocks) the 8 is more of an everyday car not as hard but the 7 puts a bigger smile on my face then the 8 does.

Is it just the extra pull from the turbo that makes you say that?

Its hard to sat they both put a smile on my face the 7 when the second turbo kicks in and pushes you in to the seat, and the noise of the rotors and turbos spinning up and the look of it as well. With the 8 its the third port opening after 6k the whole way the car changes into a different animal at this point and noise is great as well!

When i sort out the bushes and shocks on the 7 then the handling will be on par. If you are going to get an 8 make sure the coils are ok the difference between good and bad coils you can tell when you drive it there is no power at all as the wife said me before they was done she could not even beat a corsa away from the light!!!! lol.
