Cheers for the help & sujestions people, but I think I\'ve sorted it!

I was looking around the intercooler and found that the jubilee clips were loose on the top hose. looks like the previous owner has had the intercooler out to do something & hasn\'t put it back properly!!

Does this sound like the sorce of my problems?
Havent driven it since I titend things up!

General Technical / Decat pipe help needed
« on: March 14, 2005, 05:42:50 PM »
Hi everyone, just bought a standard 1993 Jap import FD3  but I\'m new to this spinning rotor motor!
I have heard a few horrer stories about decating leeding to boost problems could anyone throw some light on the subject for me?

If I can decat without mods, I was going to make my own but keep the heat probe and the air pump feed, would this help the running of the motor or would I be better off binning them?

Thanks for your help,
Jono

Boost pressure is about 0.4bar on the first Turbo and about 0.8bar WHEN the second kicks in!!
And yea I agree with the test in third being a little over the speed limit so I tried in other gears just to be sure the test was done properly ;)
Could it just be a system freeing up?

Just got my new toy: Standard 1993 FD3 :cool
But as I\'m new to this Twin Turbo thing I\'m lost!!!

The car runs fine, no missfire, hesitations, etc. but for some reason the second Turbo seems to be intermitant   I took it for a spin the other day and decided to give it a little squirt, and it picked up nicely, 0.4bar ish. went round a roundabout and did the same again 0.4 bar and then the second blower kicked in 0.8bar ish and everything went blury :D Felt like a differant car!

The car has been stood for a few months and the previous owner was a fairy and didn\'t know the turbos were ther, so could it be down to lack of use and componants freeing up, or could it be terminal:confused: :reallymad

Thanks for the help,
Jono
