Afternoon peeps :)

Ive been thinking a lot about this recently and still not sure what to do …

Ive got 2 FC3S Drop tops ( as you are all well aware :D )

Ive got a 1989 UK white one that's running ( taxed , mot'd and insured ) and a 1991 JDM shade green that's just sat looking really sorry for itself with a shot auto box and maybe other issues

The white one just isn't getting used and its a shame to see them going to waste

The market is so up and down and the moment I have no idea what they are worth

There is a 1987 EGI on facebook at the moment for 5k !!!!!!!!!!!

So … based on that I have 2 of them .. if I was to sell them as a package for around 3k - 4k .. is this pie in the sky price or is that about right

I would throw in EVERY part I have ( arc TMIC , gp sports front bumper , loads of wheels and tires … every box of spares that I have )

the JDM fired up FIRST time yesterday after being stood for a few years and settled in a lovely idle - and looks very very solid underneath

The white one .. well it runs and got thru a MOT , but needs some tidying

Like I said .. I don't know the value .. are they actually changing hands these days or are people putting them for sale and they don't actually sell

Happy to listed to all comments :D

Pics are on my website :

Managed to get the white cab thru the MOT this year :)

It needed some welding and the rear brakes rebuilding though

Also put new belts on her as well ( alt , power steering and air pump )

So its all good :) :)

Was It You I Spotted? / Comso M6 - 16 May 2015
« on: May 16, 2015, 08:39:03 PM »
Spotted a silver Comso heading north around Junction ( errrr ) 13 on the M6 ??

It was in the 3rd lane , i was in the 2nd lane in a Zafira staring at it

Sounded really quiet though .. which i was shocked at

Cant recall the reg ( not slept in about 30 hrs , did a tobacco run to Belguim ) but something like "LKM ????"

I could be completely off with that reg though :) .. and it looked to have a little red LED strip light under the rear plate

It was sat around 80-85mph and i couldn't catch it again with the traffic

2nd generation RX-7's / top hose electric fan switch
« on: September 14, 2014, 08:20:30 PM »

Ive been toying with the idea of putting an electric fan in the FC for a while now

BUT based on that im cheaper than cheap , i want a cheap way of switching the fan on and off , but not with a switch , i want an automatic one

So i have been ebaying for a top hose switch but they arent cheap .. SO .. what about a top hose adapter tube with a fan switch off say a car/motor bike plumbed into it

As long as it can react to the water temp , i dont see an issue ??

So i was looking at one of these

and then maybe drilling it out to accept one of these

OK , i dont know at what temp the MX5 switches at , but im sure i could find out

So what do you all think ?? Cheap option or just out of my mind :)

2nd generation RX-7's / FC on ebay with rear lourve
« on: July 03, 2014, 06:28:55 PM »

Ok , its got engine issues by the sound , but the rear lourve ( how ever you spell it ) it rarer than hens teeth in the UK

And its only 10 miles from me , never seen it round here though

2nd generation RX-7's / Cheap Silicon Top & Bottom Hoses
« on: February 24, 2014, 06:18:09 PM »
Hiya fellow FC owners

Ive been after some cheap silicon top and bottom water hoses for my S5 FC and the prices are all over the place .. some are topping £70 for a set

So i went on a hunt to see what i can find or get made

I have found a company local to me that reckon they can make them for £20 ish for both of them

SOooooooooooooo , at that price im more than interested , so i was wondering if any one else wanted some ??

I might see how much they will sell the TMIC elbows for aswell ( they must be really cheap in real terms )

They have said that they can make them in any colour ( although i only asked for blue ! )

BUT there is a down side to all of this .. they reckon it could take 4-5 weeks to make them ( im assuming thats time to prob ship them in from somewhere else ! ) and i need to give them a sample of what i need copying

I was hoping for a few days turn around to be honest and i could have just lent them my hoses , but i dont fancy the car off the road for at amount of time

So does anyone have a top and bottom stock hose for sale and maybe the TMIC elbows

Or even for me just to borrow for 6 weeks ??

If you are interested in the items , just let me know and i will see if i can push the prices down aswell .. or if someone knows someone who can make these cheaper , then im happy to buy from someone else :)

2nd generation RX-7's / No dash lights ....
« on: August 08, 2013, 07:49:03 PM »
Seems like its a good day for me to make LOADS of new threads :D

Right then , I don\'t seem to have any dash lights .. which is pretty bad to be honest

All my lights work around the car ( head lights , tail lights etc.. )

The clock and idiot lights are working fine , when you put the lights ON , the clock dims , so it knows the lights are on

Just no lights behind the dash ( speedo , rev counter )  or even the heater controls

I have twiddled the dimmer control from min to max and nothing happens

I have checked the ROOM fuse and I have to admit , it looks OK

Is there anything simple to check .. or do you think its a dodgy switch

Im still wondering if this has anything to do with my rear fog light not working ??

But I cant see why the fog light switch would be connected to the dimmer side of the dash ???

Any advice would be welcomed at this point :D

2nd generation RX-7's / Rear Fog Light not working
« on: August 08, 2013, 06:41:38 PM »
Thought I would ask here to see if anyone knows the quick answer

The car failed its MOT ( as per other thread )

But it also failed on the fog light not working

Now being a UK car , its fitted as standard , so does anyone know why its not working ??

The switch does nothing , bulb looks OK and there are no lights on the dash saying that its on or off

Is there a separate fuse for this ??

also I have lost all my dash lights aswell , could this be connected ??

2nd generation RX-7's / Car failed its MOT ... ( and now passed )
« on: August 08, 2013, 05:35:09 PM »
Looks like I wont be making rotorstock this year AGAIN ... bloody car failed its MOT on welding

I had all the underside welded up earlier this year and spent a while sorting the front brakes ( discs / pads / calipers )

And it goes and fails on welding on the rear end ( not sure what its called , but if you look at the drivers side rear wheel straight on, its the bottom right car corner where the door meets )

And its both sides :(

Really not impressed ... and I have tried to speak to the chap who welded it this year and both his phones go to voicemail

Not sure what my plan is now .. esp when rotorstock is only about 10 days away

Wanted Items / WTD : Front brake calipers
« on: June 04, 2013, 07:34:49 AM »
Hiya ,

after trying to put new discs on the FC I have ran into a problem

SOOOOOOOOOO , is anyone selling a front caliper ?

I either need a FC front caliper that I can take apart and use the pistons from ( or if its in good nick I can just place that on the car ) - or a pair of calipers

A pair of FD calipers as they are a direct fit

In theory I only need a piston , but im not sure that anyone would have one kicking around , and I don\'t know if a FD piston would fit into a FC caliper ?

Let me know what you have and how many pennies ;)
