2nd generation RX-7's / Whats it worth!

Afternoon peeps. Been a while ain't it! Hope you are all well.
So the question, what are the FC's going for nowerdays? Its hard to judge as there just isn't many left anymore. I can't decide what to do with mine. I'm finding it hard to get enough time to do the work required to get it back on the road (little bit of welding and then put it back together for MOT). Brakes will need looking at cause its been stood too and a new battery but she still runs ace  I've not lost any of the love for the car and just seeing its arse when I open the garage makes me smile but with so much other things on going is it time to let someone else enjoy it? Do I fix it and get it on the road and sell it? or do I sell as is?

RX-8's / Buying an RX8 questions.

Hi All. Some of you already know me from the 2nd gen section. Well the point of this thread is for some buying guidance for an RX8, as I am thinking of selling my TII and getting an 8. It\'d make more sense as I could actually get the missus and my 2 kids in it where as I can\'t in my TII. So I know if I buy one I want the higher powered one but that is about it. So Please what do I look out for other than abused engines and are there any rot issues? I\'d be looking at the cheaper and of the market as the sale of my TII would have to cover buying the 8.

Does anyone know where I can buy some for my FC? All the local motor factors round me can\'t get them or don\'t even list them. If they can\'t be bought anymore does anyone know of one that will fit off another make/model car?

I\'ve just bought a 2004 Mazda Premacy for my wife as our family car. Has anyone on here had one or got one. Just wondering if there is anything to watch out for or any recommendations for upgrades etc. The one I have bought it the 2.0ltr Petrol Sport model.

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / What would you buy?

I\'m in a bit of a pickle. I want to get back into riding my trials bike. The only problem is I need to use my Mrs\'s car to tow it about with. This mean that when I\'m out she is stuck in with the kids if it is wet out. So I would need another car for her to drive whilst I\'m out on my bike. I don\'t have the room or the money for 3 cars so I would need to sell the FC to fund the new car. I\'d say the REX is worth 2-3K so what would you guys or gals buy with the money? It has to be something fun, RWD and can take the Mrs\'s (she wont drive the FC even if I would let her!) with 2 kids.

Disclamer!!! I am only thinking about this and am not putting the FC up for sale yet so don\'t shoot me down

Thought I\'d just say a quick thank you too all involved with organizing Rotorstock again this year. And to everyone who again made it a brill day. It was nice to catch up with all of you and to put faces to some new names too.

P.S will there be a list going up of who ran what times on the strip and on the sprint track? Think I got fastest rotary on the sprint track but would like to check.

2nd generation RX-7's / Rear brakes. Arrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Bloody things! So after an MOT pass (just) the rear brakes have now decided to stick on. WTF! I\'m sure these cars know its Rotorstock this week and are playing up because they want too. Now I have to strip out the rear calipers tomorrow night and free every thing off. I even bloody serviced them this year too. Guess its my own fault for purchasing a rear brake winding too the other day for our family car, at least it came with the Mazda winding tool too


Someone tell me they are having issues too. I need cheering up.

I\'m having problems with the forum pages jumping up/down every few seconds. It makes reading any thread or selecting anything from a drop down menu pretty much impossible. Is anyone else having issues too?

2nd generation RX-7's / Radiator

Ok so I need a more efficient radiator for the Rex. But I need a Grinder price on it. So what available and from where?
I\'ve tried Ebay but the Chinese ones don\'t fit without modding (battery relocation, pipe relocation, brackets etc) and the quality isn\'t the best.
Any help would be good.

2nd generation RX-7's / Turbo Heat shield question

So basically the turbo actuator has lost its circlip and the arm has popped off the wastegate flap. I\'ve got the heatshield off to fix it. Now I\'ve got the actuator arm back on but I need to drive the car to work (about 6-7 miles away) to get my spare turbo bits ( circlip specifically). My question is can I drive the car safely without the heatshield on around the turbo? Is it just there to protect the brake master cylinder/reservoir?

RX-8's / 04 RX8 Info

Hi all. I\'m after some info for a friends Dad. He lives in South Africa and has the chance to purchase an 04 RX8. Now he\'s a bit short on details but from what I\'ve gathered its just under £8000 in SA money. Its done less than 30,000 Klms from new and is mint inside and out. Now the bit that seems strange to me is he says its the 6 speed version not the 5 speed version. I thought all 8\'s were 6 speed. Did they put a 5 speed in the 192ps RX8\'s or something?

So the questions are what should he look out for on an 04 model? Any common problems at all?
Recalls. Didn\'t mazda do some recalls for the earlier models if so what were they and would they be on an 04 model?
And last but not least, What can he do to it to free up some cheap power?
