General Technical / Side Lights
« on: May 03, 2003, 10:50:53 PM »
Hi John,

There are only two types of nose that l know of ,pre 99 and post 99 ,
Cost for a conversion  is as follows
₤381 for the nose,  ₤381 for the under-bumper and ₤ 360 for the side light assembly\'s! plus painting .

l know this because l updated mine and chopped off the No plate plinth from the standard late nose, see http://www.shyauto.com/yellow

Hi Mat ,

ln the states Brake Man went head to head in an official  test against all your AP\'s Brembo\'s etc and won overall !  BTW they market a calliper / Disc set up for the 3rd Gen at 5000pounds !!!

My Discs are 13 in diameter AP\'s on the front modified, and l can\'t even fit 16in wheels on the car anymore so l haven\'t compromised the area by the machining !

Hi Kevin,

Front and rear bumpers are new and freshly painted then l used a liquid cutting compound that has only just come on the market that also has polish in it  to bring the rest of the car back to it\'s original condition.

it\'s called Liquid  G3 made by Farecla ( don\'t buy the paste version)  and is only available from Trade paint supply companies .

Hope this helps.

PS. Those brakes are RED, or didnt Steve point that out to you. :p

Hi Danny,

The original cost of the front brake set up was 1150 but since then the Brembo has increased the cost of these callipers through the roof so it\'s not really viable any more!!

Hi Lee,

The idea came from  a company in the States called Brake-Man that use this shape to promote cooling of the disc, and as you will see in various Mags over the next few months the company l run is now offering this shape disc  for most applications.

General Technical / MOT Emmisions Passed!
« on: April 10, 2003, 08:09:21 AM »
Hi Frank  /  Rich ,

Next week l will talk to a D.O.T. man that l know  ( these day\'s he does most of his work  on SVA\'s) and a "normal" MOT man l have know for years to see what they have to say about the respective years and models of RX-7\'s and emissions.

From memory the EGI is also exempt, and l think something changes when the vehicle is 10 years old.

Hi Jason ,

What l meant by the dot\'s for location was maybe a drawing of GB or maybe Europe ,err  hang on or the world ( sorry getting carried away) of Mazdarotaryclub people to give a just a very rough location  of where vehicle\'s are situated.

Over to all of you ?

Hi John ,

Seems like a good idea , maybe we could have a map with different coloured dots for the different types of Mazdarotary\'s .

What do people other think?
