I need to go pick up a turbo II that im breaking.....Anybody done this with an a frame or is it a real trailer job? I just wanna tow it back with an audi 80 ive got....


also anyone got an a frame i can borow?

General Technical / will a second gen NA flywheel fit a turbo engine?

Its just if the plans come together for the turbo motor in the beetle, will i have to remake a new turbo II flywheel centre with shrunk-fit VW starter ring? Or is the centre of an 13b flywheel esentially the same for all models?

Is it the higher power turbo II motor?


anyone done it over here? Seen a very usefull site, and basically fuelling is taken car of with an S-AFC and a/fuel meter, The turbo is stock 13BT with a spacer to clear the lower inlet manifold, and the injectors are upgraded to Turbo 2 items.

Anybody think of anything else? Any opinions appreciated!

Looking at getting a sandwhich plate to assist with the cooling duties on my 1988 13b NA. What is the thread of the filter for the sandwich plate to work with?
Anybody know who supplies sandwich plates for rex\'s?

right, where do you pic up 4 port 13b NAs these days? All i can find is 6 nports which are really untunable wen rebuilding. I wanna bridge port minimum on the engine i put togethger....

a 13b rebuild kit......rx4 etc.....looks liek a bargain! its not mine though!

just whipped off my inlet fannimould, and am comparing it to another 6 port manifold (currently connected to the dellorto carb i want to fit).....under the 1st, 2nd, and 5th and 6th ports there are single quadrilateral-shaped holes on the one on the carb, yet on the one just come off the car there arent. In addition to this the one that had just come off had butterflies on two ports, whilst the one fitted to the carb has actuators (or the pushrods for) fitted.

Are they interchangeable? They are definitely both 6 port.

Im now thinking of ways to make my bug quicker........ive got a few mods planned to the current engine, (carb exhaust etc) but seeing as ive got this 6 port 13b at the back of my garage in need of a rebuild (suspect oil seal) im thinking why the hell not rebuild this with some work?
SO........ My ultimate aims are for something streetable (anything up to a full bridge so im told?????), either using the auxillery ports or just removeing them completely, with a nice simple 48 sidedraft carby taking over the fuelling duties.
I would like around 200-250 BHP, but this isnt to be used every day so doesnt need decent fuel cons etc etc.....
What porting recommendations does anyone have? Should i try and locate 4 port side housings? I would like to keep cost right down.....

did  14.3.....ok ok its not super quick but thats on standrd tune (i.e.not tuned properly!!!) and with a full weight bug on 165 tyres...

Next up carb and some bigger tyres methinks!
