RX-8's / Re: Oversized side seals, good or bad?
« on: March 20, 2018, 06:49:03 PM »
We supply many company's deliberately non Europe with longer side seals so the builder can grind the ends to get the best fit for each groove.

With the grooves cleaned and lightly oiled you should just feel the side seal move to and fro under your fingers without measuring, this is how the Mazda engine builders put them together in Japan by feel  ;)

Only available out from Japan or America via Japan, most term these longer seals as "Mazdaspeed side seals"

For the ends, just replicate the side seal ends you take out.

Here is a link that may help your re-build

Hope this helps

Spoke with Jon this morning and checked a couple of things out,

Not actually driven the car but no codes showing in the ECU, also checked the battery as I had a different battery.

Still showing 12.6 volts. Balanced charged correctly with a 13.88 end voltage so it looks like no spike from this.

Still looks like it was something screwed in the ABS system from when I had the rear sensors disconnected  ???

Hi Marcus,

Coils are very easy to change and we send out a simple step by step guide to help.

Beware of fake coils as many on the market are sold as genuine and are not leading to many customers then arriving at our doorstep after finding the car still won\'t run properly !

Here\'s a link should you wish to buy.
