General Technical / Which Tuner to map my car.

Yes, the nearest to you will be Pip. He is an experienced engine builder and tuner and I would recommend him. He has tuned a few RX-7\'s for me as well as REworx. Especially if you do not fancy travelling too far south.

Good afternoon people!

Long over due post. Put this thread on FDUK but to share with those on here.

It\'s well beyond the time of year where we all bring our fd’s out of hibernation. For me, I’m intending on spending at least some part of this summer in the Border Racing twin single turbo’ed FD whilst still trying to decide whether or not actually sell the beast after over five years of ownership.

Car was MOT’d recently through the courtesy of Thames Valley MOT and looking back at past MOT’s. I’ve driven the car a mere 2600 kms over the past five years!

Engine was recently built and ported some seven months ago by Oldone Racing and nicely put together and painted by Super 7 auto\'s! Last dyno session in 2007 the car made circa 505 BHP flywheel. With the engine ported for further flow, here’s hoping once I eventually run in the car - Era can meet me at Reworx to see just what exactly Max or Geoff can churn out of the latest set up.

Below is a brief spec, along with some pictures I took – albeit the car had not been washed for two weeks as seen by the muck on the wheels and windows! All comments are welcome. A brief history of the car, it was owned and built previously by a Border Racing Japan engine tuner. The turbo kit was specially commissioned to Apexera by Border Racing and I believe a total of twenty units were only ever manufactured solely for Border Racing so the set up is utmost unique to say the least. Exterior has been purposefully left modest with the Border vented bonnet and Regamaster’s giving a little hint of this sleeper’s nature with most emphasis on driveability, handling and power.

Having driven highly modified FD’s, the set up below really does place the car’s responsiveness in the realms of that of stock twin turbo cars, minimal lag but(!) the power just keeps coming and coming. :D

Thanks for reading and look forward to any comments, criticisms.  :)

Thanks for looking. :D

lol, yes - you are not the firsts and certainly wont be the last to think that!!

Finally got the chance to drive the beast recently after almost a year I think. Last appearance was at Rotorstock last year where it won best looking 3rd gen. Since then it\'s done a paltry 300 miles. Perhaps it\'s best to consider parting with it so that it maybe used better. None the less, we went for a spirited run and then for some customary photos. :)

Next step I think maybe de stickering the entire car. Aside from that, I love the looks and driveability to warrant any changes. Although all suggestions are welcome :D

Hi Mate,

I myself have been on the look out for a Z3 M Coupe! Depends on what colour it is?

I will be placing the 1999 Spec RX-7 which I\'ve for a few years for sale in the coming weeks, the car has only done 27000 miles since new and also won Best 3rd Gen award at Rotorstock last year.

If you could drop me an e mail with pics etc that would be great!

The airlines are completely swamped. A situation as this has never occured before, there are drills in place but nothing to combat a week long of no flying.

All ATC controlled airports I have flown to are extremely swamped. IFR spacing is pushing its limits to allow as many flights as possible. I cant imagine how frustrating it may be for people waiting to get back but from what I have experienced, the industry is trying it\'s best.

The last week has been perfect for VFR pleasure flights. No traffic! :burnout

There is someone selling a rare HID set over on fduk for £700. Superb lights!

Good find Dan, would be interesting to see how it turns out. No reason why China cant compete. Brazil has knocked out Airbus with a few airlines with their Embraer jets. :)

Why not just call, its cheaper than calling mate down the country!

Haha, most of the toys are being sold due to living away from home.

Will have to buy a copy of JP for memorabilia purposes!

Do you have some more information about the cars history?? maybe you could pm me!
kind regards

Hi Marc!

Apologise for the delayed reply. Had to find the pics as they are almost 4 years old now. Unfortunately I only have the front angle shot of when the car was in the auction and Newera purchased it.

The condition was amazing and the best part was the very very expensive Bride seats fitted to the car. Which is one reason I bidded for it!

Thanks for the comments guys! Still getting used to the new camera. :)

No night time or evening shots but will get some soon. About the decals, it had a lot more which I removed but decided to leave Fukuoh seen as they did most of the work. Although that does leave a fair few passer by\'s thinking it to say something else! :Hammer
