General Technical / wipers
« on: June 16, 2004, 08:55:40 PM »

if its a series 4/5 rx7 then more than likely its the wiper switch itself..... well 99.9% certain as the 8yrs of owning 13bt s4 went through 3 switches :( and in the last 3 months before selling
they also melt the wire in and near the switch connectors :(

problems are dry soldier in pcb (printed circuit board)
the relay in the switch or the pcb itself

if you know a good electrician he should be able to fix at a cost

but me well if your keeping it for a few years open your wallet up big and buy a new switch as a new one will last atleast 10 years

hope helps :)

« on: May 16, 2004, 08:13:52 PM »
series 1 diffs are drum brakes and  are 24 spline axles diff head is same as series 2

series 2 diffs are solid disc brakes 24 spline axles and same head as series 1

both diffs are same width and 4x110 stud pattern both bolt into each others chassis

series 3 are ventilated disc brakes are 26 spline axles and have langer flange for driveshaft

still bolts into s1-2 housing but have to change side gears and flange

series 3 diffs are wider cause are front wheel drive offset and are 4x114.3 stud pattern

hope this helps

there are other vehicles to source l.s.d heads from i am trying to find out will let you know :)

ps you could always lock your single spinner head but chews tyres and breaks axles and is to dangerous for road use :) usually heads for nearest power poll :) so ive heard :)

sorry prob didnt explain correctly but.......use original front cover of 12a motor, fit to 13b motor not using original 13b front cover and use rx7 s1-3 13b sump both bolt straight to 2nd gen motors :)  then you have the same mount studs for x-member.

then slot both x-members for extension of 13b

hi will have pics up by weekend
it is a driver but........ first road test tunning ok third decided to do skids........8000rpm sitting on 16 psi free reving.......left foot off twin plate clutch..... big bang!!!!! :)........ costly move........ripped diff off mounts and u bolts
put drive shaft up to floor twisted shaft :(
as you can guess not a happy chappy
fixed it stronger extra leaf mounts and bigger u bolts
have pics and video footage will put on web site....

would love to bring to rotorstock but its in new zealand :(
maybe one day........

its a gmc roots 4/71 blower- ie 4 cylindersx 71 cubic inches per cylinder.

but next project using different blower 5-10 times more efficient

20b- if its for racing you could mount on original manifold but road in new zealand had height restrictions out of bonnet mine was bout 8 inches illegal o well remove for mot then back on she goes:) he hee

1st generation RX-7's / 13b into Gen 1?
« on: April 20, 2004, 07:25:49 PM »

just use ur original front cover for the 13b and you can buy a rx7 13b sump for the rx7 s1-3 have part number somewhere if you need it,
rough way is slot front engine cross-member that bolts to front cover and slot the car cross-member and youll get your 20mm
then your exhaust need slight mods like length.
note 12a/13b non turbo flywheels different diameter than rx7 s4/5/6 etc

hope helps
