Well tomorrow I pick my car up! It\'s taken a while but I will now have a \'94 RX7 type-R with a rebuild engine from RX Motors. I also got an aluminium AST fitted, just in case. And I\'ve bought a strut brace for the engine, just got to fit in when I get the car.
Here are a few picture\'s, looks a little dull in the pics though.

Do all 3rd Gen\'s have electric folding wing mirrors or was this an option at new?

Yeah you\'re right, as i see the two cars there, i acyually like the look of the green car better, think its more to do with the angle or something! Just hope it all works out.

ok guy\'s ive a problem, im not sure what RX7 I should go for.
I\'ve been looking at getting an RX7 from down south, the car has been in the country for 3 years. It is currently getting a rebuild engine from RX Motors, new clutch, replaced vacuum hoses. Its a 94 type-R with 49K miles on the clock. Ive been looking into this car for months now. I know another guy on this site looked at it after me so I wont say the price im offering. The down side is that its bog standard, no alloys nothing, its also the metallic green/blue colour. I was really after black. The car looks great and my head says go for it, but........................
I came accross this car for sale, its got a fibre glass hood, with the slats at the top of the hood (MazdaSpeed copy I think, possibly the real thing), its got MS-02\'s etc (Spec of car: Air Con,Electric Mirrors,Electric Windows,Power Steering,Alloy Wheels,After Market Stereo,CD,Mini Disc,Driving Lights,After Market Exhaust,After Market Induction Kit,After Market Suspension,Turbo Timer,Rear Spoiler,Tinted Windows) the thing that worries me about this car is that it has no ECU. I thought with these mods that would result in it running lean?
Also it was given a grade of B, I was told due to the replacement hood!!!! (Think thats right Ill check the email at work tom.) Does not sound right to me. I contacted the company selling it, and said what about a condition of sale being placed on it; sale subject to pasing a compression test. They are fine with that. Now my heart says go for it, it looks great! And should the engine go "POP" i\'ll sell the aloys to Henning to cover the rebuilt, (Only joking mate). What do you guys think?

Are you able to say what the min age would be. I hopefully going to be getting insurance in the next month or slightly less and it would be good to know if it would be worth calling, or hanging off from taking the insurance from another company.

So what is the main causes of detonation then? Letting the car run lean & letting the oil get to low.

Who are you buying the car from? Maybe someone on this list knows the person/dealer/history of the car etc.
