General Technical / Dashboard flocking

have been looking at my rx4 dashboard over the weekend as it needs stripping down and cleaning, so as it is in peices and the actual vinyl top dash is not in the best of condition i am going to get the thing flocked, really need advice on where i can get this done and the prices?

thought i would start my thread again here rather than in the members section so oither can look at it who are not full members.
To start off a few people may have seen that i was originally going for a 13b PP, however things have changed dramatically. for the good that is:Thumbs-up
After speaking to Carl a month or so back and asking how the throttle bodies and custom inlet manifold was coming along that were going to go on the PP engine. Carls response was that he needed to see me as he had something to show me, with regards to the throtle bodies.
I arranged to go see and h showed me a custom side intake manifold that looks brilliant, with showing me this he said "instead of N/A what would would you think to a Bridge port turbo?2
I thought about this for a minute, as i was currently in the process of putting together the bits for a single in my FD.
So i quickly changed my mind, all turbo bits that i have aquired are now going in the rx4 and the FD is staying as it is, and if the rx4 puts a bigger smile on my face than the FD does then the FD will have to go as i cant have 2 fast rotaries.

Anything Engine/Performance/Tuning related / Intercooler for my rx4

Need some help finding a suitable intercooler for my rx4. Dimensions for it to fit in the engine bay, 720mm overall width, 360mm high or slightly less. (no biggeras the bonnet will hit it) 100mm thick core. 3 inch outlets.
Found some universal ones on egay but I think they wont fit.

just a simple question. If i plug my new fc datalogit in to my car to have a look at all the read outs and stuff, will it do anything to the map on my car? i.e, wipe the current map?
Dont want to start learnig how to map on my car with the setup it has, so wiping it would be a disaster.
going to be learning how to map on my bros car as it is prety much standard.

How much does it cost to have rotor lightened and the rotating assembly balanced, just getting costs together for a single turbo build for my brother, as after I beat him each time down the strip at pod he wants to make sure that doesn\'t happen.

Why does my PFC controller read the air temperature as a minus figure? Eg -35? Sometimes it doesn\'t read anything, just dots across the display. It does show the correct temp in positive figures at times but it is really annoying me with the changing readings.

Could it be a dodgy sensor?

My car is an FD.

I have an Elford turbo engine with Gear box, of which me and my dad managed to rescue out of a scrapped gen 1, if I had known at the time I would have tried to save the while car but the scrap man said it would not be able to be put back on the road due to it being registered as being scrapped.

The car was not in a good condition and when we pulled it to bits we actually found what looked like an old rats nest in it, shredded paper and foam, etc.

I was thinking of keeping this engine and gear box to put in a mini at some point but I think owning an fd, rx4 and a trans am at only 24 is enough cars, so I was wondering if anybody would be interested in this engine and gear box?

When I bought it they said it had only just been scrapped the week before and the engine was working perfectly. Im open to offers but if the money isn\'t right then I will keep it and probably put it in a mini in the next few years.

Just want to know what peoples opinion would be on gettin either of these turbos, the fors and against really.

The 4088 is 600 quid, 4094 is around 1300 quid, I can\'t see there being a huge difference in hp between the 2?

The 4088 will require a BOV whereas the 4094 does need one due to the porter shroud, however can you get a porter shroud on the 4088?

i have found threads on 26b\'s and some 39 b six rotor, but i was wondering if there has ever been a single rotor built?
  I wonder what kind of hp it would produce? in theory 150 n/a.
  With there being less moving parts, what kind of revs would it go to?

I understand that you have to use twice as much ie 2x the size on the injectors if you are to run these fuels in an engine, obviously a premix with these aswell, KB2T would be good. Is the premix to stop bore wash?
What are the benefits to running these fuels in an engine?
   More horsepower? Cooler running temperatures?
   Is it possible to get away with using methanol on a road car? As i believe methanol is hygroscopic? so you would have to use it all or i would suck in water? Advice please. Cheers

the bonnet on my car has started looking patchy, looks like a milky colour on top of the gel coat, it is c/f seibon bonnet, is this due to the polish/wax i have used on it?
when i use some g10 on it then polish it up again it looksgood again but after a few days it returns!
is my problem the wax, and is it due to sunlight fading it?

what are peoples opinions on using these parts on a road car, i know the engine damper is a good idea but what about the other two?
Will these make the noise in the car unbearable, or will a couple of notches on the stereo sort it?
I want to start using my car for drag racing and the odd trackday so would these be a good investment to help stop things breaking?

Have taken my car for an mot today, pass with flying colours. As i was getting ready to leave a few lads turned up and started talking cars and how much bhp they had and there friends.
One of the lads mentioned a 700bhp rx7 in huddersfield, which i have never seen, or heard of before. Now this is something you another rotary fan wouldnt miss, does anyone know about this car, know anything about the setup of it? Jst wondering as people tend to talk a lot of BULL MANURE when it comes to BHP figures, especially this lad that said " my golf has 330 BHP and it left my car for dust"! Honestly a golf, front wheel drive beat an rx7, i dont think so, there is no comparison.
If anyone can enlighten me on this car as it would be nice to see any other rx7s in huddersfield than mine and my brothers.
Surely something with this amount of power would be extremely noisy?? and i would have heard it?? before someone has told me about it??
