Also you may not have noticed in that shootout they were using the 5 speed lower powered rx8 not the 6 speed one.

What makes you think it was a 5 speed lower power model?

VBH quotes:  8200 Rpm, 231 BHP, top of the range model, when she is introducing the cars which would make it a 6 speed High Power

I don\'t think Tiff would have gone round any quicker,I\'ve seen VBH race in many one make series and she\'s a pretty quick and consistant driver.

Anyone catch a previous 5th gear where they did a 24hr race at Silverstone and both RX-8\'s pulled out??

I have the Fifth Gear report on the 24hour Race on video (So it wont be as clear as my normal captures)

If you want me to capture and post it please let me know

Well what i found interesting was that she stated on telly that it is indeed a 1300 cc engine! i wonder if anyone from D.V.L.A was watching! could this be a string for our bow?
Bob

If you are thinking of this because it’s cheaper to TAX a car of 1300cc then it’s not the case for a vehicle registered after March 2001. It’s now done in CO2 Emissions and the RX8 is VERY heavy on them.
See DVLA link to costs

Don\'t worry guys and gals I will be recording it to my pc and converting it to a downloadable format for Glenn Butcher to host somewhere ;)

So you wont have to suffer another hour of Clarkson who wouldn\'t know what a real car was unless it smacked him in his face (I.E a Rotary Power Car) :D

Oh yeah and someone point him in the direction of a barbers

General Technical / Wonderful set of photos from a rebuild
« on: September 06, 2003, 09:20:29 PM »
Hello John, Yeah it is in my own workshop :)
The parts are from a Mazda Dealer (Best to use genuine parts) no kits just ordered the following:

Complete set of springs
Side Seals
Corner seals and plugs
Apex tip seals (RX8)
Oil control rings + O rings
Full engine gasket set
Water pump
Thermostat
+ Normal service items (Plugs, air, oil and fuel filters)

I only got the parts on Thursday afternoon and I hope to have it running some time next week :cool

Have you ever built a rotary engine??  This is my 4th build
