Items For Sale / RX7 FD3S REW HKS Front Down-Pipe NEW
« on: November 01, 2018, 11:48:37 AM »
The RX7 FD3S REW HKS Front Down-Pipe provides an ideal first upgrade for all Twin Turbo Cars from 1992-2002 with a diameter of 70mm / 2.75"

HKS Down Pipes are located in front of the catalyst and connect the catalyst with the manifold or turbo charger. Improving the diameter of the down pipes increases the amount of exhaust gasses that are able to pass through the system, and thus increases the performance of the vehicle.

Normal price £438 / yours for £340 delivered in the UK

Genuine GT40 94R Turbo on a T4 flange for sale with spare usable core with V Band mount for downpipe and has been coated with Zicotech plasma spray as used in F1

With the right porting and fueling this turbo will produce 5-600BHP

Although the surface of the Zicotech coating is marked it still works as it should and the heat reduction is massive and even straight after a race you could put your hand right near the exhaust housing and not get burnt! a simple shield over the top will hide the marks.

The Turbo cost was originally £1300 and the core which I replaced when I wrongly thought I had a fault was another £1000 plus the Zicotech plasma spray was another £350--------------- so this has cost me a whopping £2650

Selling complete with the spare core for just £650 delivered in the UK or an extra £30 into Europe.

To buy kindly send the £650 via PayPal to sales@mazdarotaryparts.com

THIS IS A VERY RARE RACING CAR IN EUROPE. LAST RACED IN ANGER IN 1981
ALMOST ALL THE HISTORY IS KNOWN. ALMOST READY TO RACE AGAIN!

IT WAS A NORMAL ROAD CAR UNTIL THE MID 1970s AND THEN WAS BUILT INTO A PRODUCTION SALOON RACING CAR. IT WAS RACED BY A GENTLEMAN BY THE NAME OF TERRY MAYNE IN THE PRODUCTION CAR CLASS.

THEN IT WAS PURCHASED BY MARK HALES WHO CONVERTED THE CAR INTO A MODIFIED PRODUCTION CAR MUCH AS YOU SEE IT TODAY. IT HAS BEEN MADE VERY LIGHT USING A CUSTOM ALLOY BONNET
 AND BOOT LID.
DOORS ARE GUTTED.

HAS THE ORIGINAL ROLL CAGE WELDED IN.

IT HAS A NEWLY REBUILT 13B PERIPHERAL PORT ENGINE RUNNING A NEW FULL LENGTH TUNED EXHAUST AND A NEW 51 IDA EMPI CARB.

THE CAR HAS BEEN TOTALLY RESTORED TO HOW IT LAST RACED IN 1981
THE SHELL IS VERY SOUND AND RUST FREE.

NEW COBRA RACE SEAT FITTED.

REQUIRES SOME VERY LIGHT WORK ON BRAKES AND CLUTCH LINES AND STRUTS BUT VERY MINOR.

ENGINE RUNS AND IS READY TO RACE AFTER RUNNING IN. IT HAS A LIGHTWEIGHT FLYWHEEL.
5 SPEED RX7 GEARBOX.

THE WHEELS ARE ITS ORIGINAL COMPOMOTIVE SPLIT RIMS 13 INCH AND 9 AND 10 J.
DUNLOP SLICKS ON AT MOMENT.

NEW ALLOY RADIATOR AND OIL COOLER HAVE BEEN FITTED.

RACETECH REV COUNTER AND WATER TEMP AND OIL PRESSURE GUAGES.

THE ORIGINAL REGISTRATION PLATE NUMBER IS KNOWN AND THE CAR COULD BE PUT ON THE ROAD QUITE EASILY ACCORDING TO DVLA A V5 COULD BE OBTAINED IF THE CAR WAS MADE ROAD LEGAL.

IN ROAD LEGAL FORM THE CAR WOULD BE MOT AND TAX FREE DUE TO ITS AGE APPROX 1974

VIEWING IS WELCOME BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT.

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Octane Rotary content this month
« on: October 23, 2017, 12:44:43 PM »
Good 50th year write up in Octane this month, I note that they got to zap around in the  "new" Gen 1 that formally had just 49 miles on it now has 300, obviously not keeping this one as new for posterity then,

A few days ago we had a customer asking why his 3500 mile engine he bought from us had a water leak from a spark plug !.

He sent the picture attached and only when we looked closely you could just see the the spark plug was at a very slight angle.

Now curious , I then went further and cut up a Rotor Housing using an industrial band saw and found the the water gallery runs very close up behind the Leading Spark Plug .

As many will know you cant get directly onto the lower plug on the rear rotor on an RX-8  and I had seen people strip the threads before on this one.

This guy had cross threaded the plug on entry, then just animaled  it in and cracked the housing  and chances are the plug will snap trying to undo next time.

Moral, of the story is  "Make sure you put your Spark Plugs by hand first before fully tightening "!

Just posting in case anyone is interested in attending

We confirm that pre-registration is essential

Goodwood Road & Racing will then work through all applications to choose the special mix they would like to see on the day.

This means that they may not be able to guarantee that everyone is accepted for Site Access though currently we are not oversubscribed with entries.

If your members are granted site access, they will be guided into different parking areas within the Motor Circuit by our Marshals - they are not guaranteed to be displaying together.

All entrants will need an account at Goodwood.  They then add their vehicle/s into their accounts under the My Vehicles section.  In this same area, they can apply for Breakfast Club.

Entries will close next Sunday, one week before the event.
https://www.goodwood.com/sports/motorsport/breakfast-club/    is the link on our website with full details and instructions.

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Insurance Cost, You gotta read this!
« on: August 06, 2017, 09:32:56 AM »
The insurance has become due on the RX-4 and this info may help many of you.

The car has been on the road 10 years now and the the first few years I paid £100'ish with from memory Hougton Insurace, who in subsequent years was taken over by AON then Footman James !

For the last couple of years with the car garaged, clean licence plus being old I had been paying £500 plus.

This year they wanted £740 and as I signed up the last question I asked was "did I still have retention on the policy" so bearing in mind if I did not have this included, IF I had even a minor bump due to lack of parts I would not be able to keep the car  :(.

The next day I rand a company called Carol Nash Insurance

https://cherished.carolenash.com/classic-car.aspx

I went through the retention first and was told even if it was deemed a frag motor where legally it had to be scrapped I could at least keep all the parts  8) 8) 8)

Now the reason for the post, from £740 the insurance has become just £330 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will see it says Classic but they do also insure any motor vehicle, so as my other polices come up I know who I will be talking to.

Hope this helps.
