Events Calendar / Christmas Party - Saturday 10th December 2016
« on: September 25, 2016, 05:51:29 PM »
Hi all,

So I know it's still September but it's time to look at dates and venues for a 2016 Christmas Party. As in previous years we will look to book somewhere for dinner in the Milton Keynes area. One option is Browns who are doing 25% off their a la carte menu and free Prosecco if you book before 14th October.

Possible dates are either Saturday 3rd or 10th December.

Please can you post if you are interested and which dates you can do.

MRC Forum Discussion / Loving the new look
« on: November 30, 2014, 06:30:24 PM »
The new forum looks great - good job Crissy and Malcolm.  :)

A couple of things:

Can we have some more smilies so I can applaud you?
The old forum still came up as I have it set as a favourite in my browser so can we put something on there to redirect people?
New post and PM notifications don't now have the details of what's been posted (i.e. the actual text) - I thought that came up in testing and you were able to change it so it does?
This is the first time I've logged on since last week so I went to 'Show unread posts since last visit' and nothing came up. It said 'No unread topics found since your last visit. Click here to try all unread topics.' which when I clicked on it came up with.

Ahh - I can't attach a screen shot as it says 'An Error Has Occurred! The upload folder is full. Please try a smaller file and/or contact an administrator.' The file is only 36.5KB so should be OK?

Anyone else braving the elements for the British GP this weekend?

We\'ve borrowed a RAV4 and both have full waterproofs - I think we\'re going to need them!  :2eek

Passed a certain red R3 parked up in a lay by on the A5 on my way to the Milton Keynes meet last night. So I went back for a second look and found Nigel fast asleep! :Giggle:Giggle

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / The Riddle
« on: January 24, 2011, 12:38:45 PM »
Ok this is bugging me and I can\'t find the answer on \'nternet.

Poem by Gerard Benson called \'Riddle\' which is currently plastered all over the Underground:

I was the cause of great troubles, yet, resting amongst leaves, I did nothing wrong.
After much waiting I was taken in hand, passed from one to another.
Broken I moved beyond sharp barriers and was cradled in wetness, mashed to pulp.
Soon I entered a dark tunnel where bathed in acids I altered my being.
But what I entered I also altered, bringing light where there had been darkness.
I brought strife where there had been peace, pain where there had been comfort.
My journey ended in the place of corruption but by then I had changed the world.

Any ideas? I thought maybe apples - alcohol?
