Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Limited headroom car lifts
« on: December 02, 2017, 04:59:08 PM »
Fitting outs moving along now so it's time for me to be ordering a car lift soon for my second man cave, given headroom's limited at 2.3m the game plan has been to get a scissor lift rather than a two or four poster but I'm open to suggestion if anyone with real world experience can chime in and point me in another direction.
A mobile single post lift would probably make the best use of the room available but I can't see how they can be stable enough for anything other than very minor work, again open to be corrected as I normally use a pit rather than lift.

2nd generation RX-7's / FC Cab battery relocation
« on: April 18, 2017, 04:30:56 PM »
As part of the FC revamp i needed to free up some engine bay room without sacrificing boot space on the cab, after going through countless battery size options it's possible to shoehorn two Yuasa 45ah batteries wired in parallel  below the floor in the rear well. A bit of a win win win, more engine bay room increased total battery capacity and without compromising already limited boot space.

2nd generation RX-7's / New addition
« on: July 08, 2013, 08:42:34 PM »
Here we go then our new family member after washing three years of dust from it, there\'s a little tin worm but all in all in very good condition for a UK motor. I\'ve sorted a number of minor faults and given all the brakes etc a quick pull down over the last 24hrs, so barring the aircon needing re-gassing everything is back to operational status and it\'s MOT time. Then a full mechanical shakedown prior to taking the paintwork right back over the winter and giving it a full respray to put the bodywork back into A1 condition............. I\'d forgotten what a standard engine bay looked like LOL.

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / A reminder of Club rules.
« on: July 06, 2011, 08:51:07 PM »
Following several complaints from members regarding the amount of loosely disguised attempts to circumnavigate the club\'s swear filter (and sometimes derogatory reference to other clubs/forums) we would remind all forum users that doing this is not in keeping with the club\'s Terms & Conditions that all agree to when joining.
We feel that this has reached a point where we must remind all forum users to abide by said T&C\'s

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Problems with Internet Explorer 9
« on: July 06, 2011, 02:22:47 PM »
It seems some people are having issues when upgrading to Internet Explorer 9 posting on the forum. As a work around until we find out what is wrong, within internet tools you have the facility to run IE9 in compatability mode if you enable this option all should work fine again. This problem is only cropping up on certain systems so it may well be you will have no issues when upgrading to IE9 if you wish to do so.:Typing

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Guests & Members Location
« on: May 21, 2009, 08:02:22 PM »
It has been brought to our attention that there are a number of profiles showing misleading or incorrect locations within peoples profiles. We would ask that anyone who has such would alter theres to show a more accurate geographical location or just leave the details blank if they\'d rather not have other guests members privy to such information.

« on: November 25, 2008, 05:49:44 AM »
Well Brown and Co are at it again with another Tax Con. Cut VAT get a few headlines then do the usual on the QT and slap 2p on a litre of fuel.........normal service resumed hammer the motorist at every opertunity. The sooner we get the chance to vote out this unelected dictatorship the better.
Rant over back off to work now to earn them some more taxes.

Cosmo's / Cosmo suspension upgrade
« on: August 04, 2008, 11:01:22 PM »
Good news we now have a company in the UK willing to modify your Cosmo suspension to coil overs. Only dodgy camera phone pics but you\'ll get the idea the stock top mounts are modified to suit the coil overs. Theres no mods required on fitting just a straight bolt up set the height and damping levels.

MRC News / Selling, trading and advertising on MRC.
« on: April 24, 2008, 12:23:33 PM »
With the server change MRC have also taken the opportunity to alter some of the rules and user groups regarding selling and advertising.
Full Supporting Advertisers
Full advertisers will carry on as before with a couple of changes only registered companies will be eligible for advertiser status and we are looking at implementing a rotating banner system at the top of the page.
Private Traders
This will be a new user group for people wanting to sell multiple items that aren\'t registered companies. Private traders will be able to go out on the site to sell there goods and services and have there own section as advertisers but will not have a banner or allowed links in there signature. Private traders will also be able to take out a quarterly subscription rather than an annual one.
Guests selling goods
Guest will be able to sell through the submit parts and cars sections as now. Threads will be approved by moderators only if they have contact details within them and will be viewable to members only for the first week as now. The big change here is you will only be able to sell one of any given item per year. Anyone exceeding this limit will be termed a Private trader there account will be suspended and a invoice sent for that quarters trading.
Members selling goods
As now members have the unrestricted use of the members for sale section in addition to which they can use the submit parts section subject to the one of any given item rule.
Everyone guest, member or trader is expected to show some respect do not thread spoil or poach. If someone has a thread running then do not jump on it to sell your own goods start your own. Likewise advertisers and traders if you feel you can undercut or offer a better service than one offered use you own section to promote these goods not someone Else\'s thread.

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Thanks Guys
« on: January 24, 2008, 10:27:26 PM »
Well what can i say after todays episode.............lots actually but I\'d have to ban myself edit delete and remove my post so I\'ll not bother.
I\'ll sleep on it tonight and post something at a later date when there is more chance of a rational response.
In the mean time i would ask ALL to respect the feelings of fellow guests, members, mods, admin and think before posting. Anyone with hidden agenda\'s then leave them hidden and the ex members that hide behind alternate user names kindly go back to the other forums you frequent and leave MRC alone.
 Regards Kevin
