Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Windows update error code 80240016
« on: May 08, 2011, 05:59:06 PM »
I have a windows update error code 80240016. I am trying to carry out updates but it won\'t let me.
Can someone recomend a website to down load some software to fix it. There are lots on the net but I\'d prefer to use a site that some one can recommend as being safe.

Thanks.

3rd generation RX-7's / Wish I still had it!!!
« on: October 13, 2006, 11:15:00 AM »
How many of you have sold your FD and thought sometime later "Wish I still had my FD"

I sold my car in May, id had it 3 years and fancied a change. I recently bought a BMW 330ci, I could not afford a M3 so the 330 was the best I could get for my cash. Since then I\'ve always wished I still had the FD!!!! Don\'t get me wrong the 330 is really nice but if you fancy going for a spirited drive, the car lacks in so many different ways. Steering, feel, suspension, speed etc etc.

Im now trying to think of a way of getting another FD and not getting a divorce in the process.

Oh how I miss my RX7!

« on: April 26, 2006, 01:08:49 PM »
Just wondering what is the newest FD you can import?
Is it 10 years or older? so that in 2009 you could bring in a 1999 car?

Also whats the rules on modded cars.

Why did the government make it so dam hard to get new cars into the country!!!  :2Mad

3rd generation RX-7's / My FD is sold pending payment
« on: April 24, 2006, 11:41:28 PM »
Well people looks like the FD is now sold.
A guy came past on Saturday to give me the deposit. Deposit is for new tyres as I am not selling my alloys with the car. Im wanting to keep them for the next FD I get (hopefully next year) I fully intend to get a new one but you don\'t know what the future holds.......

Couple of questions, what are the stock tyre size, 225x50xR16?
Also I currently have a private plate on the car that is not included in the sale. How do I go about getting the old plate back on and keeping my plate even though it won\'t be going on another car for a few months?

Not to sure what I want to go for next. A newish car BMW 330ci (mine would have the optional indicators) an EVO 7, Audi S3 or new A3 2.0 sport. Or I might go for an older slower car and save up the money for as young an FD as I can get and still keep the other car. I have a few months to decide.

I intend to keep lurking around the site so you ain\'t got rid of me that easily!!!

General Technical / Flooded my car :-(
« on: December 26, 2005, 07:45:20 PM »
I flooded my car! Im a **** as I knew I would and that makes it worse.

Any way, I\'ll ned to get the plugs out but I have heard its a pain in the ass. What tool do I need to get them out? Will a socket do the job? What size? I know you get actual socket tools for removing the plugs but I don\'t have one.
Also whats best to get rid of any excess fuel in the engine?

Wheels & Tyres, Suspension & Brakes / bushes
« on: December 20, 2005, 01:05:01 PM »
Im getting clunking sounds from the rear of my car, the car has done approx 60K miles so no doubt the rear bushes could do with being replaced. My question is, what bushes need replaced? I know some of you have gone through this recently so hope one of you can help????
What bushes need replacing and whats the cost? I read RE:Worx would match the group buy price that was advertised on rx7club.com but can\'t remember what it was. Whats the cost for fitting them (I won\'t be doing it myself)
I already have Mazda anti-roll bar bushes to fit and some new suspension to fit from a RX7 Type-RB, the Bilstein(sp) struts and some lowered springs.
Also, is a rear diff brace going to improve the ride quality at all or just stop wheel hopping but give a harsher ride?

General Technical / New Lock?
« on: December 04, 2005, 07:11:25 PM »
Is it possible to order a new door lock (the barrel only) and not need a new key. In other words a replacement barrel specific to my car, giving Mazda my chassis number.
Do you get what I mean?

I. C. E. & Electrical / Fitting RE:Amemiya mirrors
« on: November 09, 2005, 10:19:18 AM »
I am needing to fit my RE:Amemiya wing mirrors but after I took everything apart to fit them I noticed that the existing mirrors have a plug in type electrical connection on them, and the RE:A mirrors have only crimped connections on each individual wire. How can I go about getting the right electrical connection on the mirrors?

Anyone fitted these mirrors or different ones?
